To brighten up these cold, rainy, wintery nights, why not tell us what makes you smile?!
It also means that if we can be Victor Meldrew on one thread, we can make it all better by posting what makes us smile!!
In the area of South Yorkshire that I live, people still smile at each other in the street...whether they know you or not. ;D
And if you''re a woman walking along a narrow footpath and a man walks towards you, he will step out into the road or walk on the road side of the pavement. :)
If someone elderly is walking towards you it is expected you will walk on the road side, as a younger person.
But if its an elderly man....you just have to guess where he''s gonna go!! ???
-
;DThinking of next Christmas and my daughters wedding, :angel:oh and our summer holidays in Turkey,
and cold wet nights an early bath and been in front of a warm fire :).
-
Our daughter is not called angel the sign didnt work right :-[ :-[
-
LOL holiday fever was just thinking "what a lovely name for a daughter" :)
-
Thinking about our two granddaughters makes me smile every time!

-
We say ''Yay'' to things that make us smile!
At this moment its two pints of Thatchers Katy cider (and on a school night too!!) a chippy tea (seeing a thread here?!) and the promise of a great weekend off on the horizon!!!
-
Thinking about my daughter makes me smile, I know I am biased but she really is so beautiful!
Having an opportunity to curl up with a good book and of course that first glimpse of Kalkan!
-
the little wooly PG tips monkey makes me smile ;D ;D
-
My first Baileys coffee of the festive season and winter months....cos Baileys is on special offer at £10 a litre at Morrisons, hurraaahhh!
-
Oooh.I love Baileys to ;D
-
Borat makes me smile.......................NOT!! He actually makes makes me laugh out loud.
-
Ohmigosh, found out Baileys is only £8 a litre at Asda today!
(Honest, i dont spend all my time wandering around supermarkets!!)
Even more of a reason to smile!! ;D
Borat...the film made me laugh so much my cheeks hurt, but Mr B sits there stoney faced and asking "when will the comedy start?"
;)
-
Borat is on this saturday..skymovies.I will watch it again and fully expect to laugh again! Do you think i should buy a lime green leotard to wear on Patara beach next summer? ;D ;D
-
Blimey, blue lizard, will certainly get you noticed and would allow for some cracking sunburn!!! :o
-
Oh, a naughty double entendre!!!! That made me smile
-
Lol!! :D
Its that unmistakeable Bolton wit JoanH!
We can''t fail to entertain each other! ;)
-
my little cheeks have gone red!! :-[ ;D
-
And best of all, you can buy your very own Borat Mankini for only £9.85 from Firebox on the internet. Don''t forget to post the pictures!!!!
No, I won''t be buying one for my hubbie. Lime green does not suit him.
-
We''ve completed our Christmas shopping...hurrahhhh!! ;D
No Borat Mankini, fortunately! ;)
-
And now i''ve wrapped them and wrote out my Christmas cards!!
Oh, im soooo good...and glad its all over! ;)
-
Oh dear, am feeling very worried now. I''ve hardly started my pressie buying and not really thought about cards yet ::)
-
It makes me smile when i serve up lumpy gravy ;D
-
lumpy gravy making should be penalised by 5 years working with Gordon Ramsey :o :o
-
Nah.It''s great, dont have to make Sunday dinners so often cos no body will eat them.lol;D
-
lumpy gravy making should be penalised by 5 years working with Gordon Ramsey :o :o
Hmm......... should this be in the "Victor Meldrew" thread?! ;D
-
I would willingly spend 5 years with Gordon Ramsey!
-
:) knowing that I will be getting the cases down this week-end ready to pack for our trip back to Kalkan in a couple of weeks, and that most of the Christmas "stuff" for here is done. Think the word is smug.!!!
-
My old dog makes me smile.(sadly gone now) he was a great lump of a thing who would hide behind the skinniest tree thinking that because his head was hid you couldn''t see him. When you reached said skinny tree he would jump from behind it and bark before legging it!!I always acted surprised ;D ;D
-
After getting absolutely drenched whilst shopping today (see Victor Thread), I have just had a quick look at the website camera site at Alanya. It''s pouring down there too!!! Nearly made me smile
-
At this time of year, seeing houses decorated in fairy lights, it brings a warm glow to the soul.
Les
-
Yeah but Les - things that don''t make me smile is the very tacky horrible plastic blow up father Chrismtases and blow up reindeer - a house near us has a garden full of tacky plastic blow ups and a horrible bouncy castle like semicircle over their drive (red and white and blow up) - it looks horrendous....nice fairy lights one thing - these horrible blow ups - completely OTT .... :o
-
Hi Felicity, I agree with you up to a point over blow ups, some i''ve seen in my area have been done quite tastefully but in my original post, I did say fairy lights. A garden tastefully done in these make all the difference. Beside the M25 around Heathrow/Staines area there is a haulage company, I believe it is Saints that put plastic things on their roof and this year it is a humongus snowman !!

I have just discovered a new website and when I saw what they sell, it made me smile, so I thought I would share it with you. It is www.tasteturkey.com. They sell and deliver Efes and Turkish wines in the UK.

our local tesco has efes - 4 pack on special offer - £3 for 4 big bottles - instead of £4!!
Serefe!! x
-
trust me ..it doesn''t taste the same...sitting in Wetherspoons in Fareham is not a patch on sitting in a sunny kalkan ,under a cool umbrella looking out over the bay with an ice cold Efes...bliss!! :P

You''re welcome Lorretta, and if you drink it at home, you''ll be able to have a "fag" with it.!!! >:D
-
LOL Joan. I have ordered the Rosato but the minimum order was 12 bottles! I will be giving some to my in-laws as they really liked Rosato when they came to Kalkan with us. The rest I am keeping for myself!
