Title: First snow
Post by: itstime on December 04, 2011, 12:09:22 PM: Out for a walk with the dog and it started to snow ::) brought back memories of last year and just hoping we don't get anything so bad this year.
The first person I hear singing "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas" will get lynched :o

Looks like we're getting more over the next few days ::)

Just got back from dog/cat sitting trip to South of France, using compensation from trip cancelled last December 1st, because snow closed Gatwick. It was 18/19c and lovely sunshine for most of time. (A bit like Kalkan but different views and more Frogs). Bit of a shock tonight 8c and dropping.

I have just been to the Lincoln Christmas Market - last year it had to be cancelled for the first time because of very heavy snow. This year although chilly the sun shone.

Although the snow looks so pretty and I love seeing it through the winter from a warm house it can certainly make getting around difficult and I have just been reading that some schools in Scotland have already had to close because of the snow.

My sympathies to those who are having problems right now with snow.

Been off and on all day and back on with a vengeance now. Looks like more shovelling required tomorrow morning >:(
At least I'm getting use of the new tracks I bought and boy are they wonderful :)

Only kidding, last year the snow was a nightmare here in hilly Wales, especially the snowfall we had just before Christmas when my eighty eight year old Mum was rushed into hospital with pneumonia. To access the hospital you have to negotiate many very steep hills, the journey in the ambulance was pretty hairy to say the least thought we'd all end up in A&E even the ambulance man looked a tad tense :o, it was like the emergency service version of Dancing on ice, think the driver would have been awarded more than a SEVERN from Len. Don't want to experience that again I can say LOL! Well none of the white stuff here yet just pouring rain and gale force winds, wheelie bins and plant pots blowing all over the garden, lovely jubbly >:(

Post by: itstime on December 08, 2011, 03:06:42 PM: Eek not content by hitting us with snow, we're now being batterd by winds of up to 150mph :o Schools and businesses closed ( thankfully I now home safe ) public transport off and police advising no travel at all between 2pm and 9pm. Roofs blown off, debris everywhere, trees down, power off for thousands (not me..........yet)
Ho Hum the worlds going mad ???
