Title: Exchange rates
Post by: Doctor slow on September 15, 2011, 06:22:53 PM
I'm told that its best to change money in turkey rather than in UK. Do the banks charge commission for changing cash? Is it best to take sterling or euros? In addition, we have about 700 of the "old new" lira, which we need to change into the new new lira. I think we can do this is the Ziraat bank in Kalkan. Can anyone confirm this for me please. We are coming to Kalkan on the 26th September. Can't wait!

I changed old lira at the Ziratt bank in Kalkan but it was a while ago. I don't know if there is a time limit to exchange but if not it was a very easy quick process - handed it over and was given the money back in new lira.
