can anyone tell me the name and brand of flour suitable for cake/pastry making, and possibly where i can buy it.

You need a 'soft' flour for pastries and cakes. Soft means it has a low protein /gluten content so you can check this on the side of the pack. Assume you know but flour is called 'Un' and may be labelled 'Bugdag Un' meaning Wheat Flour.

Sinangil does produce some cake flour products, flavoured, plain some of which have baking agent added.

These are available in the supermarkets
