Title: Genuine Weather Report
Post by: daisymai on May 14, 2011, 12:42:01 AM
I have been looking at the KTLN webcams for a few weeks now and the weather looks so unsettled! How does the weather truly affect those on holiday in Kalkan now? Are the pools/sea freezing? Are the locals shocked at the weather now and is it likely to settle soon? (I know, how long is a piece of string?!) I am beginning to wish I booked my wedding in Kalkan on 1st August and not 1st June, actually I am beginning to wish I booked it here in the UK as the weather is delightful!! Any comforting words welcome! x

Well, yes, it certainly IS unsettled at the moment (only since last Wednesday though) and much colder in the evenings/at night than we have known it in May. And that seems also to be the view of the locals. However, May can be unsettled, but weather will usually have settled into blinding hot sunshine by the end of the month. I'm sure things will be OK for 1 June!

Well, this morning it is wall to wall blue sky with just a couple of wispy clouds over the mountain, (the sort that burn off in no time). Temp is 19.2c and rising.
We should have daytime temperatures of around 30c by 1 June.

It's gorgeous here today, but the last 3 days have been very miserable.

We got married in Kalkan on 4th June last year and although parts of the week were cloudy, most days the cloud burnt off and it was back to a blue sky.

You've picked the best place to get married in, so stop stressing about the weather - after all it will be what it will be! :) and I'm sure you have other things to stress about with just 2 weeks to go.

Have a fab time.

I wouldn't worry two much about the weather. We returned from Kalkan a week ago and everyday prior I was checking the weather and it said rain, rain, rain. When we were there it rained one morning and that was it, glorious sunshine for the rest of the time. I'm not sure where the weather stations are but I don't think they are in Kalkan, probably in the mountains.

Your day will be perfect June, it is normally gorgeous . Where are you getting married? It would be great to hear about your day when you return so please post a report. We've been married for two years now but I still love hearing about peoples wedding days.  ;D
