Title: First visit to Kalkan - recommended places to stay?

Hi all

My fiancé and I are coming to Kalkan in the first two weeks of July 2011. This is our first visit on the recommendation of a friend who has been quite a few times.

The ideal situation would be that we are able to afford somewhere with a private pool but with a wedding to pay for this is looking quite unlikely!

Does anyone know if its worth risking leaving the accommodation booking until the last minute - do the prices of villas tend to come down very much?

If not, can anyone recommend any apartments that share a relatively large pool with not too many other apartments? We have spent the last few years going to my parents place in rural Spain - they don't have a pool with it being a town house so we want to make good use of one this holiday!

We would also quite like a private outdoor dining area if we do go for an apartment rather than a villa.

We don't really want to spend much more than £500 for the two weeks (and obviously the less expensive the better!).

Hi Kate,
Good the hear you've decided to try Kalkan for your holiday. I have to say I think you would be lucky to get a villa/apart with pool for 2 weeks for £500.00 in July. I know property owners can be willing to negoitate the price but that is peak season.

Have a look in the Accommodation section under the header top of page..or try www.ownersdirect.co.uk (http://www.ownersdirect.co.uk) ....book it when you see it ...they don't tend to go down but dates fill up!! ;)

Hi all

Thanks for the private messages everyone - we've ended up booking at the Pasha Apartments. We won't be sharing the pool with many others and the bar sounds great. They get great reviews on Trip Advisor also.

Can't wait now!

Kate you will love Pasha. Mark and Imelda the owners are really nice and its a lovely place to stay, just the right size. They have a lovely seating area by the bar and the apartments are very nice. July will be very hot so be prepared but Pasha has a very nice pool. Enjoy :)
