Title: Hotels around Gatwick.
Post by: Dellbarr on November 09, 2010, 10:09:22 AM
Are we the only ones having mproblems? Last year the bus failed to turn up,(it was after midnight) and we had to pay £14 for a taxi. When we spoke to the manager in the morning he agreed to reimburse us providing that we could produce a receipt! We couldn't so that was that. This year at around the same time we booked in to the Europa. Around thirteen of us arrived and filled in the forms and then got told that there were no rooms available. They'd double booked them. One was apparently due to be vacated at 3am. Does anyone know of any good ones?

Try the Hilton......don't panic!! they do deals for car parking and overnight stay!..you just walk across a covered bridge from reception into the terminal(south)..then it's the skyrail to north if you are flying from there ;) ...... easy!!

yes the hilton is good but shop around . last january we decided to stay over as there was a lot of snow and did not want to risk another fall and not being able to get to the airport. we went on to the hilton web site and thet wanted £120 room only. i then found a site called holidayextras.com and got a room and breakfast for £70! that was for the two of us. the bonus of course is that it only a 5 min walk to the terminal so you can eat and drink there instead of payiny inflated prices at the hotel

Would also reccommend the Premier Inn- Gatwick Central [North Terminal], literally a five minute walk from the terminal or a cab approx £6 or they run a courtesy bus service. We stayed here on our return after a very late flight. It was great not having the two hour drive home at 4.30 in the morning. A quick 5 mins to the hotel and in a nice comfy bed within half an hour. Rooms are clean, showers hot, beds large and comfy, noise minimal and breakfast great!

You could try The Gatwick Belmont, about 5 mins drive from the airport.

We've used it just to park our car and get a lift to the airport.  (v cheap).  It looks like a reasonable hotel as well.  They operate a free transport service to and from the hotel during the day and give you details of a taxi to transport you in the middle of the night (about £7 this summer).

We stay at the Gatwick Ramada Plaza. Not a 5 star hotel, but the prices are reasonable and it includes leaving your car there for 7/14 days. There is a shuttle bus to the airport [takes about 20 minutes] and the food is not bad at all.

Flying out to Palma Mallorca for Xmas. Already booked the car park, but in view of the weather here, had a panic, searched and got Hotel Mercure for £44 for 2 for 1 night. 5mins from Hotel to Parking North.
