Post by: Charlie on November 03, 2010, 09:26:13 AM
Is anyone travelling on the above Onur Air flight?  Have you been notified of a change to it or cancellation of it?

Hi,
Had a phone call last night from a friend, who had been notified of a change. The plane they have been changed to is going to Bodrum, so very long transfer!
We haven't been notified and are travelling on the same flight. I wonder is it overbooked. We are in the difficult position of having booked our flights to and from Belfast to match the Gatwick flight times

Similar thing happened to us last year in December, we were flown to Bodrum, bussed from there to Dalaman where we then had to pick up our transfer to Kalkan, enroute we had to drop off other passengers, it took for ever in the early hours of the morning. Our our flight had been delayed at Gatwick for six hours also because of the weather so total hours 22 just from home to Kalkan.

You may find that your flight destination has been changed. Last year there were also these issues when flying over for the New Year and a few people, including myself and wife who had booked to fly to Dalaman were flown to Bodrum....The coach transfer took about 4 + hours and we were dropped off at Dalaman airport to catch our booked car hire transfer to Kalkan.....Not a great start to the holiday...

If this is happening again it doesnt look like there was any intention of the flight going to Dalaman even when you booked.

I'm kinda losing faith with these so called cheap airlines...especially out of season. We are flying out late on the 27th December but this time from Heathrow on a scheduled Turkish Airlines flight, when we arrive at Istanbul we have approx 1 hour 40 min wait until a flight down to Dalaman to arrive there early on the 28th December morning. Yes it does take longer, but is sheduled so has more luggage allowance, additional leg room and free food and drink throughout the flight . It didnt work out more expensive really either when booked about 3 weeks ago. I guess it's ok if you have the time and wont suit everyone

Good Luck

Just confirmed that we have had our flight cancelled. Now exploring all the possibilities. Has anyone got a solution. Will have to look at the Istanbul option but flying into Gatwick!

I don't know if anyone is interested, but I have four seats available on the Gatwick to Dalaman flight on the 27th - returning Aegean on Sunday 2nd.

I've had to cancel my trip due to my dad having a major op, just before Christmas.
