Just got back yesterday from a wonderful 2 weeks in Kalkan and the temperature reached 49 degrees in the sun and 35 in the shade :) get back to England and its 18 degrees in the cloud :(

ooo lovely I bet you have a crackin' tan!...We leave next Wednesday, can't wait for those high tempretures. Was it your first time in Kalkan?It is for us...not many sleeps left now ! woooop

It was our 2nd time in Kalkan went at the same time last year but it wasnt as hot as this year, got a good tan when I could stand lying in it was like lying under a grill ;D. You will have a lovely time where are you staying ??

oh great! thats what I like to here haha..I've never been to Turkey before so the immense heat will be all new to me.We are staying in the Samira (the one in the centre of town I believe) where were you?

Half way up the mountain ;D We walked into town a couple of times but we were so hot & sweaty when we got to town it wasnt much fun, got a taxi back, as we stayed in a villa and there were 8 of us we didnt venture out to eat much. If you are in the Samira in town you will have everything on your doorstep. You will have a lovely time and I hope you enjoy Kalkan as much as we do.

We arrive on Thursday and the weather forecast looks great for the next few weeks

Yeah bring on the sunshine! It's overcast and drizzling in Wales today, definitely not summery weather :( Just started packing my Kalkan clothes ready for our second trip this year, should be arriving in Kalkan late Monday afternoon. The long range weather forecast for our first ten days is wall to wall sunshine, can't wait to revive our suntans. 8)

Yes Lorilou we'll be flying from Rhoose. It's not far for us as we live in a village between Caerphilly and Blackwood. We'll be flying at eight in the morning so get your binoculars out and give us a wave! I'll be the woman in the window with the big grin on her face as the plane takes off! ;D

I do wish you LUCKY people would stop rubbing in the fact that it is hot! Have been forced to go and have a sunbed tonight, alas, no Efes. 30 sleeps to go and then Kalkan here we come!!!

we are landing Monday afternoon (from Gatwick) i would say i would keep a lookout for all you, but I'm as blind as a bat and I'll bet its also busy busy there! however i do have an ear for a Newcastle accent Lucy and Steven..(ooh Robson green) so maybe i will overhear you in a bar and introduce myself...alternatively if you hear of some mad little English woman accosting northerners in Kalkan that will probably be me!!!
There should ba an enjoy kalkan rendezvous bar or something over there!!!!
Amazingly enough i was out on the mooch for things to wear for the hols in Westbourne, near B'mth when in a shop talking to the assistant I discovered she is heading back to Kalkan for the 2nd time this October!!!!...(it must be good as you all go back!) so we got talking and..... recommendations all the way including....wear sensible shoes!!! rubber soles with some straps...apparently the streets are well steep and of slippy slabs!!! another tip!
Cant wait...we'll be out on Captain Osmans boat in about 10 days time (he's booked up til then!) maybe we will meet some of you there.

Iminei, we'll be also arriving Monday afternoon but from Cardiff. Keep your ears open around Kalkan for a short dark guy with a Welsh accent, who some of the Turkish waiters say, apparently resembles Maradona. He'll be the one attempting to order his Efes in pigeon Turkish with a valleys accent. I'll be the small dark woman pretending I'm not with him ::), only joking at least he tries!! If you see someone fitting our description, come over and have a chat and an Efes, always wondered when we're wandering around if any of the people we pass are members on here. Be great to actually meet someone in the flesh!! Cheers 8)

Hi Lucy--We are coming over on saturday--we are staying in my apartment opposite the samira garden--so may see you and steve around! Ill be with my g/f and 7 yr old daughter. Im looking forward to the ht weather--it is so dull and depressing here at the moment! Paul
