Title: Turkish Bank Security
Post by: Enjoy Kalkan on July 22, 2010, 11:42:37 AM
Hi,

Not sure if anyone can help on this, in the UK any money in a UK bank is secured upto £50k to protect you if that bank goes pop. Does anyone know if such security exists with Turkish banks and what the limit is?

Thanks :)

Yes you are covered up to 50,000 lira in your savings account by the Turkish govt, but you have to convert your money from sterling so inflation, devaluation is a risk
