Title: Antler's Sunday - Pandora & Pide
Post by: antler on July 19, 2010, 10:36:44 AM
The boats had already left for their day trips as we strolled down Cardiac Hill into the harbour. One boat, “Roma” was being stocked with provisions. Smart, Italians were pushing a small trolley full of watermelons, oranges, toilet rolls and water. There’s something smart about the Italians, whatever they are wearing. Beautiful People.

Even on this furthermost tip of the harbour it was steamy hot. We walked back around and back up the steps into the village past the Jeans shop. As we left the harbour, Roma was pulling out and turning in the direction of Kas, the deck adorned with Beautiful People.

Just up past Rendevous is a small ceramic shop on the right, and two girls were in there on their laptops. I stopped and said “The whole world is on their computer!” and they laughed and agreed with a big “Yes!”.

Mrs A spied the “Pandora” sign in Infinity Jewellers and being air conditioned, I agreed to go in. Out comes the tray of  Pandora charms – “these ones are £10, and these one are £15” the gentleman explained.  Mrs A was in her element. I was in my wallet.  “”Do you think I should?” Mrs A asked, and, feeling that was the same sort of question as “Do you think this makes me look fat?” I quickly came out with the stock answer. Anyway, I was dying for an Efes.

We strolled on up to Oz Adana and went in for lunch. Yucel and Resul were on fine form and very apologetic for keeping us waiting. The chef was not there, and they explained that he had 3 wives and was working on his fourth, so was extremely busy. Yucel looked at me and said he noticed I only had one wife and he could help. And so the banter continued.

The meze came while we looked at the menu & finally chose 2 Pide – one with spicy beef and one with spinach, cheese and aubergines. During the wait Yucel was feeding us slices of fresh Pide as the staff were having their lunch. All absolutely delicious.

We had read a lot about Oz Adana on EK and it was good to try it for the first time, and TL27 was not going to break the bank. After all, it cost about the same as a Pandora charm and for me, the memory will probably last just as long.

An iPOD afternoon by the pool followed, before Adam arrived at 7pm to take us to his restaurant as the sun was setting over Kalkan.

Cheers

A welcome ray of sunshine in an otherwise bleak rainy day here in Liverpool.
Looking forward to 16 more!
