i wish there was a webcam showing the harbour area, which would be far better than one just displaying ADDA,s sign (and the Alternatif in the background).

Pity it can't be moved 20 degree to the left thus not advertising the tree on the right.
Then we may see a bit more of Kalkan and less of the ADDA sign (and not forgetting the Alternatif) taking centre stage.

saw the yacht this morning too and wondered who owned it. Was flying the USA flag. Absolutely beautiful. It was at Kekova yesterday when I was there and was surprised that it seemed to have followed me back to Kalkan. Hmmm maybe it's owner is looking for me  ::)

Last night I heard  a rumour via a friend that according to Turkish news the guests in the Yacht included Brad and Angelina.
I happened to be sitting in Indigo when they returned to the harbour after lunch to board the speedboat to take them back to the Boat and I took a few shots.  One "could" be Angelina but there were no children around so I think unlikely.  They all wore hats but they did look American.  There was about 12 in the party.
The Yacht is called Gaggitta which if you "Google" it is a ship made in Australia, launched in 2001 and based in Greece.  It is available for Hire so not owned by anyone famous.
I thought the Yacht was gorgeous but a little dated.

Angelina - or Angie as we call her - is a close personal friend and she said she wouldn't dream of coming to Kalkan when her personal stalker BL isn't there ;D ;D :-*

Was it a big grey one? We were on Sunset 2 a week ago today **sigh  :(  ** and there was a big grey yacht out and about in one of the coves we stopped in. The flag was one big star and a few stripes - like the SSB but not quite? Funnily enough didn't hang around long when we started bombing off the side of our gulet! So whoever was on it wasn't having any fun..!! ;D

The same yacht, Sagitta, was also in Kalkan on the 6th July and that is the time of the Brangelina rumours. The flag on the rear is actually the Liberan flag.
A couple of days earlier another motor yacht visited kalkan and actually moored up in the harbour for a few hours. This yacht resembled the motor yacht that brangelina were reportedly on, M/Y Noor, as reported by the Turkish press.
Its anyones guess!

The Blue Yacth that appeard for a couple of nights I think Wednesday evening and then again on Friday evening was called Atlantic Goose, uesd to be called Brave Goose when it was owned by Sir Donald Gosling, built in the UK in 1987. It is a charter now, I thought it was flying an american Flag, very beautiful yacth.

Dredged this up rather than starting a new thread - anyone clock this beauty in the harbour yesterday?  http://www.superyachttimes.com/yachts/details/179. Drool drool  :P Not sure who owns it but I am free tonight for dinner on board  ;D

On a separate but related topic, a visiting Turkish friend told me yesterday that he had heard they were planning a big new deep water harbour for Kalkan, one which presumably can accommodate cruise ships and ferries!!  :o Anyone know if there is any truth to this uncomfortable rumour?

Hurricane Run left this morning. Its owned by the guy that owns the racehorse with the same name.English ex-bookmaker,I believe.
As for a new harbour in Kalkan, they have been talking about it for years and years!! Will happen one day I suppose!

Wonder who chartered her? A Google suggests the lowest weekly charter rate is $320,000. Should I put my name down for two weeks next September now do you think? Wouldn't like to miss out  ;D

This new harbour idea tends to support the so far unsubstantiated rumour that the big holiday companies (Thomson,Thomas Cook et al)bemoaning the fact that there are not  really any hotels large enough for them to send the masses to,are investigating the possibility of mooring an old cruise liner in this new harbour, thus providing a very profitable approx 2000 bed floating hotel.Apparently a lack of large brown envelopes in Kalkan is holding up the scheme.

I would have thought that a permanent mooring would be out of the question even in Brown Envelope Land. The large tour operators can and do access small hotels for their 'small & select' type offerings but I can well understand why they might be foaming at the mouth for a big resort-style hotel. Long may they be thwarted in their ambitions, but the Turks seem to think such a move would be great because of all the money it would bring in  :(

Oh no, not a large hotel floating or otherwise, the place would be ruined!!

That would definitely mean "bye bye Kalkan for us!"
