Title: Boat trip recommendations?
Post by: lavashluvva on August 26, 2007, 12:42:16 PM
Hi, new poster here.
Not new visitors to Turkey but we are looking forward to our first visit to Kalkan in a weeks time, even more so having read the very informative and mostly positive reviews on this forum.
Just wondered if anyone who has been recently could recommend any particular boat trip, you know the kind of thing, visit a few bays for a swim stop, lunch/drinks on board, no loud music etc.
Thanks

Hi lavashluvva, there are a few recommendations on boat trips on this forum.  The one I use is Zeus, captained by Ali.  It is a small boat which can only take up to 8 people.  We usually take it just for the family.  The cost is about £90 - £100 per day so obviously depending on how many use it that can range from £12 per person to £50 fper person for two.  Ali cooks a great bbq on board and anytime we''ve been with him he''s managed to harpoon a few fish which also get cooked for lunch.  Doesn''t get much fresher than that!  You can catch him down at the harbour most mornings before he heads out or usually about 6pm in the evening when he''s returned.  Alternatively if you want to go out on a larger boat with a crowd you can just take a walk along the harbour and book either the night before or on the morning.  Just be there about 9.30am and you will definitely get a trip.  Hope you enjoy your time in Kalkan, I''m sure you will love it!

Hi Charlie
Thanks for the reply.
We''ll look out for Ali and the Zeus, there are only 2 of us so hopefully there will be a few others wanting to book a trip for the same day as we''d prefer not to have the boat just to ourselves.

Mods-apologies for originally posting this topic in the wrong section!

We went with Adda tours discount with this site, although the boat held 40 people there were only 10 on board and that was high season was £16 PER HEAD, great meal, no music, lots of swimming.
