Title: The most expensive Turkish meal ever?

Thought EK regulars might be interested in this one.
We're on holiday in Dubai at the moment and went for dinner last night in a very posh Turkish restaurant here: called Ottomans, in the Grosvenor House Hotel. Beautiful decor, some genuine Turkish staff, live classical Ottoman-style music and all the usual favourites on the menu, but with a "modern", nouvelle cuisine sort of touch. Delicious food. But........ £160 for 2 of us: 3 courses, plus wine. This is fairly standard for dinner in a Dubai hotel, but it don't half make Kalkan seem good value for money!

Been going to Kalkan last five years, bought an apartment etc etc. Kalkan is pricey compared to say Marmaris, but it,s our choice .

I really like this post , put,s things in perspective
