Title: Information on properties and agent
Post by: dogboy on January 17, 2010, 04:31:04 PM
Does anybody have any knowledge of the 'villas with terraces' marketed on Lagoon estates web site? Don't want to put a link as it might be against the rules!!!
Any info re build quality, location, issues etc would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in anticipation.

Dogboy.

Sorry no info and I think they're quoting a wrong price!   If you can buy for the money stated, I'd say move quickly!

I'd agree with that - on one site it says £98,000 and on another it says £280,000!

£280000 :o puts a whole new perspective on it. Thanks MartynE. Which site is it advertised at that price? I thought I'd scoured every Kalkan web site there is.

MartynE. The link you put on is different to the properties I was enquiring about.
These are the correct ones.

Yes, but compare the specs and it's obvious the price quoted doesn't figure  ???

Having spent the last year minutely studying every web site relating to the Turkish property market (In particular Kalkan) very little figures when it comes to spec/prices,
however as I said they are two different properties.
I have contacted the agent and await a reply, however as previously requested any info pertaining to the villas I have highlighted would be very much appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi Dogboy.

This advert appears to relate to the Olympus Villas in Komurluk.  They have been built a while now.  They were completed before we started looking for property but I am sure I saw adverts with them showing in the £300,000  area.

£98,000 does not seem correct at all, I wish you luck but it would seem a mistake.

We looked at these villas a few years ago after they were built. Fabulous position and very high specification. There was supposed to be a path constructed down to the town beach but this has not materialised so the 50m to beach is definately stretching it. Price of £98,000 cannot be correct.

One of the Olympus Villas sold for over £500,000 last year, the price of £98,000 will refer to a one bedroom Olympus Apartment which was the price off plan 4 years ago they are now around £120,000.

We looked at these villas back in May 2005, when they were still being built. I think the price back then was about £300K. I did'nt like them as they were so crammed in, no privacy at all. View over Kalkan was very good though.
Still don't get how the local agents arrive at the value of property in Kalkan, as some of these villas have now been empty/built for nearly five years now.
When does a new villa that has not been occupied actually become an old villa?
There is a villa on the Blacklions Web Site that we also looked at in 2005 and to the best of my knowledge it had been built two to three years then. They are still advertsing it today as new!!
What really amazes me, is how developers can spend vast amounts of money building villas and then let them stand empty for years. Surely if something does not sell then you are asking too much for it or the demand is simply not there in the first place. I just don't get it!!!
