Title: Long term Rental
Post by: lindyloubluecat on November 29, 2009, 01:39:38 PM
Does anyone have a small apartment I can rent from 18th January 2010 until 15th March. I am a regular in Kalkan and am waiting for my own apartment to be finished. I can only afford £150 per month as all money now tied up in my own apartment. I have a friend who lives there so could ask her to look at apartment. I am a very careful renter and can give previous accommodation references if wanted.

Hi Lindylou....

To be honest, I think you will be lucky to find any rentals at £150 per month during the winter - unless you can find someone with the facility for you to pay for your own electricity and water.  The cost of heating and hot water during the winter (when you can't rely on solar energy as much as the summer) is very high.

If you add in the cost of a cleaner as well, even if it's only once a week, that would use up most (if not all) of the £150 so most owners would not find it worth their while to let an apartment for that amount.

Unless anyone else has a different view?

Thank you for your reply. Yes I realise it is a tall order. And of course I would pay for Electricity and such and do my own cleaning. Have been waiting for own property to be finished for 3 years so not a lot of funds left. (Violins Please)!! Thankyou anyway. Linda
