Title: to take NatWest Maestro Card or to change cash into Turkish Lira before I go?
Post by: Harrogate_female on October 05, 2009, 11:18:29 AM
Hi, I usually use a post office travel card and top it up with euros, but im a bit thrown with turkish liras!

i need to pay sterling cash for the car hire when i arrive, and then i will need turkish lira for the holiday. I was going to withdraw the cash in sterling in england and get it changed into Turkish lira (except for the car hire cost), but this would mean carrying alot of cash on me, and I dont feel its the safest thing to do!

if i just take my natwest maestro debit card and pay for the car hire on that, and then withdraw some cash in kalkan from an ATM etc would it cost me alotmore? i never really understand the bank charges bit!

thanks
