Just returned from Kalkan and was very impressed with this new restaurant. The food was excellent as was the service. It has a great setting with good views all around and has a very smart appearance. Good to see a new venue doing so well.

We also have just returned and have been to this restaurant for the first time, what a gem, good food and service and very reasonably priced . The view was pretty good too I would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant.

The Nar boys have seen your post and are very flattered, perhaps to the point of giving the messenger a free beer later.....
-
Glad you liked this one! One of our favourites.

Nar is without doubt our favourite place in Kalkan - I would say its streets ahead of most places... and the tarte tatin is divine!

What a shame the Nar is now closed for, hopefully, the season. We were there in June and have to agree it was one of the best. We look forward to going there next year.
-
Nar Restaurant also got top marks from us this year, already on the list for our next visit to Kalkan - roll on next summer!
-
We thought Nar was OK, but nothing special.
Of all the restaurants which were new this year, Kalamaki was the one which most impressed us: good food, well-presented (without too many fussy bits of garnish) and professional, unobtrusive staff.
Baharat was good too, especially the pitcher chicken for two.
We were very disappointed with Moussaka.

BACK FROM 2 WEEKS IN KALKAN ON 26TH OCTOBER AND ATE TWICE AT THE NAR WHILST THERE. ABSOLUTELY OUR FAVOURITE EATERY, LOVELY, FRIENDLY STAFF, EXCELLENT FOOD AND FAB VIEWS. IF YOU MAKE A RESERVATION YOU CAN REQUEST A TABLE AT THE EDGE TO ENJOY THE VIEWS. FOUND IT NO MORE EXPENSIVE THAN OTHER RESTAURANTS AND THE CHOCOLATE MOUSSE CAKE WAS JUST DIVINE.

I returned on the 26th Oct and ate at the Nar on our first night and later in the week. Both times the food was excellent. On our first night while we were having a drink the waiter asked if we wished to move to the table near the edge for a better view. They quickly cleared the table and reset it for us, no effort spared. They were all very friendly and looked after us very well. When we ate there later in the week the food was just as good. One small criticism (hopefully they will read) vegetables are some of the cheapest foods to buy and they could take their food to a different level if they don't stick to set dishes but cook the vegetables of the day (best buy) in different ways. We got the same veg and potato dish to accompany different mains each time. Being an x chef and now farmer (horses - they will remember us). Hope this positive crit will help improve and retain their already excellent business. You have to offer your repeat clientele a new experience or they will become bored no matter how good it is. It will be my first port of call next September. Well done lads, and wife behind bar. Ray
