Changed hands. Meal inedible but forced to pay with abuse from owner.
-
With posts like this it will be the ceased trading house. Did you get a discount for all the abuse, or was it extra?
-
Thats such a shame as it used to br really good there, don't like the sound of abusive owner either. With so much competition and incredible service elsewhere how does he expect to last.
-
In the absence of other similar reviews I'd say a pinch of salt is required. Strange thing for a first time EK poster to say and could just be sour grapes or a personal vendetta. Recent reviews elsewhere are generally quite positive. What do other members have to say?
-
Hi
just to say no sour grapes. Have been coming to kalkan for 8 years. Owner for last 4. Have been to trading house many times before.
I didn't want to go into too many details because experience was so terrifying and I was frightened. I just wanted to give a warning . The fact that I haven't posted before is just because I don't particularly like writing and have been happy with kalkan.

Hi Sophie
Just read your post about your experience at the Old Trading House. Had a horrific experience staying there - Would so appreciate you contacting me or anyone else
Many thanks
Caroline

I pm'd Sophiesowner to find out what her terrible experience was and now know why she is so traumatised and does not want to go into detail about what happened on this forum.
I will certainly give this place a wide berth and hope that anyone else who has had any kind of bad experience there will get together and report it to the authorities.
There are plenty enough places in Kalkan who offer wonderful food and great service and treat their customers with respect and I feel very sorry for those who have been unfortunate enough to suffer this kind of experience at what used to be a very nice place.

Bubblyc I'm sorry you had such a bad experience in Kalkan. From a safety point of view however I don't think it is a good idea to put your email, which also has your full name on it, on any public forum. It might be wise to delete it and ask people to contact you by Personal Message through EK, as the site can keep a track of the sender if necessary. The person you had a problem with may read this site and I don't think his emails would be pleasant.

Ditto to the above. If you received the sort of verbal abuse you describe then I hate to think what might appear in an email. Sorry to hear of anyone who has been on the receiving end of behaviour like that from a person whose business is supposed to revolve around customer satisfaction.
