Title: Transfers 4u
Post by: cheshirecat on August 17, 2009, 09:49:33 PM
I've seen the above recommended for airport transfers at £35... does anyone have a weblink that I can use to book?  Searched the web but can't find anything...

Thanks all

Bev

Bev,
Have a look at the "Cheap and easy transfer" thread on the 2nd page of this section.

The website is www.transfers4u.com  I've used them several times when travelling alone and can recommend them.

Hi all am flying to Kalkan this Saturday and can't wait!  Am just about to book coach transfer with transfers4u - does anyone know if this will be like any normal 'package' holiday transfer and go round the houses or whether it will come straight to Kalkan and to our apts?

Thought I'd ask as I'm sure some of you will have used this service previously.

Thanks

Bev

I used them for my transfers......am sorry to say - a complete nightmare.  Journey to Kalkan from Dalaman took two and half hours (stop off at garage on way for their food) then last Monday the journey took three hours (numerous stops with no explanation) resulting in me nearly missing my flight.  Stressful, to say the least!  Cheapest isn't always the best.

Thanks for this.
When we first started visiting Kalkan, we always used Transfer4u as they were always cheaper than the local firms. The irony was that everytime we used them, the transfer was by Adda. However a couple of years ago their prices (T4U) rose dramatically and we stopped using them.
I have been looking to use them again when I come out later this month, but have held back as they now seem to drop off at various resorts along the way for some travellers and yet not for others.
Also, do they do one way transfers? Or just returns?

oooh that doesn't sound good.  Thanks for the tip.  I'll book a taxi.

Have just returned and used T4U for my journey to and from Kalkan for the third time.  Yes it's longer than taking a taxi but at less than half the price for a single traveller (£35.50 return) it's excellent value and I've had nothing less than very good service every time.  I shared a mini-bus to Fethiye then was taken by car direct to Kalkan with short stop at garage.  On the way back the bus arrived spot on time and picked up others in Kalkan before taking us all direct to the airport.    I don't think you can beat taxi service is you have others to travel with but I would always use T4U when I'm alone.

On the T4U website you can only book return  starting in Dalaman, however if you phone them you can book return starting in Kalkan and also one way trips. They are also operating throughout the year now.  I have used them 2 or 3 times, there has always been a changeover in Fethiye from minibus to taxi, as we have been the only ones on the Kalkan leg they have dropped us off at our villa, though we have to go to the nearest hotel they deal with for the pick up.  Yes it does take longer, 30 - 40 minutes has been our experience with no garage stop.

It only takes one person to have one bad experience and the worry is that it could always happen again, at least with a taxi you know it's direct

Kim completey agree.  Have booked a taxi - yes it's £110 for the return trip but hey, at least I won't have to wait around for other passengers plus get there in double quick time!

Am very very excited about my hols - and can't wait for Saturday!  Fingers crossed Kalkan won't disappoint (it's hasn't so far!)

Ive just booked my transfer with the Transfers4U minibus and I was wondering whereabouts I find the bus once I arrive at Dalaman, as there is no information about collection on the website.
Does anyone know if there will be someone at arrivals with a sign to collect me or do need to find the bus on my own, and if so where will it be?

As you come out of the airport, you will see lots of people waiting with placards.  The rep is usually towards the end on the right hand side and his sign may read 'hotels4u'.  If you can't find him, ask any of the other drivers where he is and I am sure they will help you.

Was at Dalaman airport a couple of days ago, you cannot miss the Transfer 4u lot. They all wear bright green shirts, with blue shorts. Nice.

just had a phone call from friends who went home last night from kalkan using transfers 4u. by the time they had been "around the houses" to pick uo other people from various hotels and a stop outside the office in fetihye it was a 3 hour 10min trip to dalaman! nearly missing the flight. they said the £40 saving was not worth the stress
