What a crackinn' meal!
The Calamari to start with, were one of the best we had ever had - red hot, crisp and really tender - along with some fried aubergines...all delicious.
Then Mrs A and OJ had the Fillet Steak in Mushroom & Brandy Sauce. No small piece of fillet this, it was a vegetarians nightmare - at least half a cow! And at 25 TL. that's little over ten quid?
I went for the famous Grouper Fish Fillets and they were superb.
With a bottle of Angora White and a few other bits and bobs, the bill was 136 TL, which I think is around £56for the three of us. (The rate in the bank next door today when I changed up some cash was 2.4).
Then the Magician amazed us with his tricks. he couldn't help apologising for the "poor" service as there was a nice gap between the courses, which suited us fine, but I heard a few rumblings....
No problem. It was an amazing meal and extremely good value.
Lats night was pretty steamy, so after our short walk back up the hill, we had to join a few other guests in the pool for a midnight swim. Bliss! And that set us up nicely for one (or two!) Jack Daniels on the balcony....!
Tonight we are off to ADAMS. I think it is a few kilometres out on the KAS road? Adem is coming to collect us at 7.20 pm and then its drinks at his restaurant to witness the sun go down and try the food from his restaurant, which also comes highly recommended....
Bring it on!
cheers

Or you could put "Adams restaurant" in the search facility at the top ot he page and it will bring up previous posts on his restaurant on here.

Thanks for recommending that web site. Hadn't seen it before and it's got some interesting stuff.
It occurs to me that I might be missing some other local web sites too. Is there a list on EK anywhere? I had a look but couldn't find anything apart from the message that says "A number of essential Kalkan websites shall be featured here soon"
Thanks again
Sal
Looking forward to getting to Kalkan ;D

I would imagine it was probably due to the fact that every time anyone mentions KTLN on here someone from the EK admin team makes a comment about it!! Why????!! Think this has been asked before and no response given as yet...

I have pointed people towards KTLN for info and never had a problem.

Whilst this thread has already gone off topic and I have made a determined effort not to get drawn into this I just wanted to say for the record, that I have no issues with people linking to KTLN which is also an excellent resource for Kalkan.
If I did have an issue the links would have been removed, which they have not. Older members may recall John Fed who runs KTLN used to be a moderator on EK and I have no issue with John either.
What I do take issue with is people believing there is an issue when there is not and in turn only trying to cause disruption. Furthermore some members have taken the opportunity to mention KTLN in almost every post which does effectively "advertise" KTLN when other Kalkan websites do not have this opportunity.
Both EK and KTLN have a place in Kalkan and whilst there may be a small amount of duplication both sites have something different to offer.
I am still in contact with John Fed and if he believes as the owner of KTLN there is an issue I am sure he will and I welcome him to contact me.
I trust this wraps up this debate.

Hey Jon,
I hope you mean members who have been on EK longer may remember John, rather than 'older' members!! ;) ;)
Sorry, I know that's going off topic.
-
Well spotted ;)
EK members of all ages ;D

Can I just add, as a relative newbie, that www.enjoykalkan.com and www.turkishlocalnews.com are both great sources of information on Kalkan.
I'm amazed that all these resources are available and I for one am grateful to the owners of the sites because without them Jim and I probably wouldn't be looking forward to booking a holiday to what seems like a wonderful place.
Jon is quite right too. The different sites offer different things. For me the EK forum is just great, as are the web cams and news stories on KTLN.
We should count ourselves lucky.
