This post I suppose is for members who have spent this Summer in Kalkan. We were in Kalkan in the middle of June for two weeks, it was hot although to be honest it was quite bearable even for me, didn't struggle too much with the hills this time. Luckily we benefited from that lovely breeze on quite a few of the days and we only had one day that was a little overcast but still hot. Returning in just over a week for another fortnight wondering if the weather is hotter at the moment than it was in June, only ever visited during June, never during August but this year decided to have a second trip. Been looking at the long range accuweather forecast and it looks to be in the mid thirties and sunny, but to be honest the figures don't really mean that much to me. I realise that the weather anywhere can be unpredictable, just wondering roughly what to expect, mind you as long as the sun's shining we're happy, there's always plenty of watering holes on route to cool down with an ice cold Efes 8)! Thanks.

Clara we went in August a few years ago and it was really hot and very humid during the evening - there seemed to be more power cuts during August as opposed to June, not sure if we were just unlucky. The humidity played havoc with my hair...within seconds of walking out of the nice air-conditioned apartment to go into Kalkan for dinner my hair had trebled in size and resembled Worzel Gummidge :P. We still did the hills...definitely lost much more weight when we were there in August...Expect hot and humid, things to be busier than June but the same great welcome!

I have just come back after spending 2 weeks in Kalkan. The weather is VERY VERY hot, too hot to sunbathe in but managed to keep cool in the pool and sea. As long as you have aircon you will be fine, a lot of the restaurants also have fans to keep you cool when eating your evening meal.

June is better it allows you to do more..although still very hot it's not stifling/muggy/humid at night like august which drains you after a while!! ;)

Update: weather now is just like UK - it just threw it down with rain for an hour, bit of gentle thunder and lightning and small particles of Kızıltaş washed down towards the harbour!

Sunny and warm in Hertfordshire!

Which bit of Herts? I bet/hope it's raining on the Essex borders. Pretty much everything has now dried out in the centre of Kalkan, so the meteorological moral high ground has been regained in Kalkan!
