Hi Molly,
If you look in the Totally Turkish Section under Cookery, you will find a couple of places that do courses.

Hi there

I''ve just (today) booked to go on the half-day course at Gurus on Wednesday 27th May; Huseyin says no one else has booked for that day and it might be cancelled if he doesn''t get enough people.

Please can you tell me a little more about Gurus, I would be interested in booking too. Will be in Kalkan May 23-31, so Wed would be good. :)

Here''s the e-mail address I used; there is a website, but I can''t find the link - if/when I do, I''ll send it to you! He replied within a couple of hours.

Maybe see you there!

My BH went last Wednesday to Guru''''s and had a great time, learnt lots and laughed much! We went back to the restaurant in the evening and had one of the best meals of the holiday. They even come and pick you up from your accomodation and return you after the meal ( small charge ). The whole family are lovely.

                                              Cheers, Allan.

ps They can pick you up and ferry you home for the cookery lesson as well!

Hi Loretta

Thanks for the reply.  The guy from the restaurant has been in touch and it''s all booked for the 16th.  He''s got another couple as well who have booked.  I''m sorry you won''t be there then, but we''ll catch up when you do arrive.  See you in a couple of weeks  ;D

It really was fab and we also enjoyed the company of the others on our course.  We went back a few days later for dinner.  Huseyin came to meet us and then took us home.  No menus in sight, just plate after plate of delicious, very freshly prepared traditional food.  Will definitely do it again when we go back.

Just back from 18 glorious days in Kalkan and the cookery course and Guru's was great fun, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Huseyin is charming and does all the translations, but his Mum is the boss in the kitchen. He takes his direction from her and then takes a ton of photos which he put onto a slideshow for the large screen above the bar - perfect entertainment whilst we waited for our efforts to be cooked for lunch (plus Huseyin will e-mail them to you later). We learned how to make stuffed vegetables and vine leaves - harder than you think and some of our class we made to barrell their courgettes again - no names  :P. Some of our stuffed vine leaves looked like cigarillos at first, but we soon got the hang of it. His ad board is up in town, and he will, for a small charge, collect you and return you after the course. Or you can book online, like we did.
Great day!
