Its our first visit and only 3 weeks to go ( and getting really excited). Just can''t make up my mind which is the best way to change money. I don''t know whether to bring sterling and change up or use the ATM''s (I have a Nationwide account). The only concern I have using ATM''s is how reliable are they ?

Hello
When we were in Kalkan last year we used the ATM , I think that there are 3 now, we had no problems at all using our Nationwide Card.
We took about 100 tyl, just to see us through the first day.
Hope that helps
Sara :)

I take a mix, about £50 in lira and the rest in stirling, plus the card,if you have a couple of hundred in stirling
you can use them in bars ect and you will get any change in tkl,so you will always have a bit of local money for the supermarkets ect, then use your card when eating or if you run out of cash. ;D 8)

Never had any problems with the ATMs...we always use them with nationwide card which is still free in turkey...the rate is very good as well...it''s safer than carrying lots of currency/sterling and easier than travellers cheques etc ;)

I agree with Blue Lizard - no problems with the Nationwide Flexaccount at the ATMs
