Title: TV Packages
Post by: KislaBlue on March 29, 2009, 12:55:30 PM
Hi there
Can anyone give advice on the best TV packages available with English speaking channels including sports (not Sky) at the moment and cost per month if you need to subscribe?
Thanks

Hi Kislablue,
We have a contract with Digi Turk, which we pay £10 a month. This gives us approx 25 English channels, this includes a couple of sports channels. ;D We think this is good value for money.

Heath
Thank you for replying. This does sound reasonable. Do you sign up for this in a shop in Kalkan or online?
I assume you then pay by standing order?

The electrical shop which is situated on the first street down from the Nur coffee shop sorted it all for us.There were lots of differant packages to choose from,we just wanted a selection of channels and thought that was a good deal. They came and installed it all but cant remember the installation cost.We pay this monthly through our visa card.

The guy in kalkan elektronic will try and sell you a system that doesn''t need a monthly subscription. We have tried several of these before and have always gone back to Digiturk. If you want to get a discount you can pay for a year in advance, mine is due for renewal in May and last year I paid £83. You sign up in the shop but you can make your payment over the phone and Digiturk has English speaking operators. Their service can be a bit slow if you need it but my box blew completely last month and I got a new one with no charge straight away.

If you go to

http://www.digiturk.com.tr/package/?packageID=3

and click on Paketler on the left hand side you can see each package offered - what programmes each offers and also the costs

If you are not here all year you can suspend the service for ant two months in each twelve - so you need only pay for ten
