Against my better judgement I have offered to host a Turkish Dinner Party (in UK) next weekend. I am thinking of Imam Bayaldi for main (one of my favourites and I''m confident cooking it) possibly Baklava for dessert but I am stuck for a starter. Does anyone have any ideas/recipes. I thought I might give Busters puffy bread a try but don''t know what to do with it. Please can someone help. ??? ??? ???

what about something simple like a variety of dips, cheeses and fruit? they can be prepared in advance and will allow you to spend more time with your guests and less time in the kitchen.

A selection of Turkish Meze should go down well.

Cook the mince first, found it in my Turkish cook book. I''ve only read through it a dozen times can''t understand how I missed it. :)

Thanks for the advice, even a though a day too late ha ha! Not to worry though as the mince did cook in the oven and was very tasty. The only thing that was missing was the warmth of the turkish sun and the views over Kalkan (Essex isn''t quite the same) and I had to make do with a bottle of Gavi rather than Angora!!!

Glad to know you''re still alive after the test run :D
