Title: Aegean Flights
Post by: Kalkan Magic on March 03, 2009, 03:06:08 PM
Just to let everyone know, Aegean Flights have released their flights for winter 09/10 today - a day earlier than their website states. :)

New year and Easter flights all around £188 each.

The New Year flights are cheaper than Flythomascook whilst the March flights are actually more expensive - by about £10 even having added on extra luggage charges on FTC.
Re Aegean, they are introducing a £3 fee on credit card bookings tomorrow but I think you can avoid it if booking today.

I am so fed up playing this flight game. I logged onto Aegean and was quoted £188 for newcastle flights in October. Discussed with hubby, went back on 5 mins later and the price is £262. Should I have disabled my cookies or something or is it just my bad luck.

Aegean flights always go up once you have made the first enquiry so now I do my comparative flight costs before I go onto their site and then book the first time. I''m not really into technical details but I think it is a cookie thing.

Hiya FK,I have flown with Onur four times, some members dont like them but I have never had a problem with them, they seem to have got their act together a bit more these days and the cabin crew seem to be a lot more cheerful,I have had delays, about an hour, but only a couple of times .
I am flying with Onur again in may,so they cant be that bad,you get what you pay for,or not in some cases.

We''ve not had a problem with Onur (Aegean) as Fidimax says, nothing polarizes opinion on this site like Onur Air. Some members would never travel with them, some members prefer them over all the airlines. We''ve travelled with a few different airlines and have found Onur offer a very reasonable service for the price...and seem to have a bit more leg room than the others.

Personally I havent really had a problem with Onur..... yes at times I would happily pay £1 to use the toilet (or should I say put a £1 in their kitty so they can get a working one!!!)

On the plus side, our last flight out of Dalaman was with Onur in terrible thunder storms (so bad the airport was closed for inbound planes and the roof was leaking!) I was very impressed with Onur when they decided to delay all their flights because of the extreme weather - I was glad I was watching the other "leading tour company" planes take off and bobbing around like a cork in the sky from the safety of the departure lounge!

Interestingly, if you go a google you will find some airlines got fined that night for attempting to fly in adverse weather and Onur was not one of them (one for the people who like to use the safety debate!)
