We have just received an e-mail from our Management people to say that all of the five apartments in our block where broken into this week. We do not have much information on what has been taken yet, as it is difficult to know what owners'' personal possesions amount to when all you have is an e-mail message saying ''all of the cupboards and drawers have been overturned''.
It is so frustrating for us as we have not intended going out until May. We do not rent out (fortunately) but we are now worrying abut insurance claims / what has gone missing / what damage has been done etc...
Not wanting to panic other owners, but this is a first for us and we would not have known if our agent had not checked the property. We have not been out since Sept and have historically had good piece of mind that we have owned now for over 6 years without any bother.
Be aware, This has come as a big shock to us and just think that you need to check out your property and it;s safety if you have not been out for a while.
It leaves a bitter taste in your mouth and instead of going out in May to look forward to our holiday, we probably have a bit of tyding up to do.
