As a very new member to EK,I would like to say HI to you all and look forward to many chats and discussions with you all.My wife and I will be living in Kalkan for at least the next 5 years as we have taken over the running of the Pasha apart/hotel on Kalamar rd.
My question is relating to shipping personal/household items to Kalkan.
I have read on your forum about electrical goods etc.and will not be bothering but we have accumalated some items that we would love to have in our apartment or the hotel and wondered if anyone could give any advice on cost or companies. We will have residency and have a registered turkish company set up.
Many thanks for any advice and i look forward to making lots of new friends in the coming months.
:D :D :D

The Turkish consulate in London should be your first point of call. They are very helpful and will be able to guide you through the importing processes. If you do this before you contact any shipping companies you will save money, time and stress.
They can be found at http://www.turkishconsulate.org.uk/en/index.htm
You can call them at Tel:020 7589 0949 Fax:020 7591 6911

Hi Gooner63,welcome to EK,cant help you with the shipping thing, but its nice to know who has taken over
pasha apt/hotel,It was Adele and Yusuf and Pasha that give me the "Kalkan bug" my wife and myself have
stayed at Pasha two or three times and the place is a little gem,the front bar is what I suppose you would
call my local,no matter where I am staying.
I am in Kalkan in may with my brother and two friends so I will call in for a Efes or three, good luck with Pasha apt/hotel hope everything goes well.

Hi Gooner63
I have no interest in this company other than being a satisfied customer
I shipped goods last year and used:
Scott Clews
0044 (0)1527450795
0044 (0)7801835594
www.sacshipping.co.uk
The experience was hassle free his Turkish contact at the port in Izmir was very efficient and I can recommend them.
Regards: Buster
PS Best of luck with Pasha.

Hi Gooner63
Does your name mean you are an Arsenal supporter born in 1963? If so, join the club ;)
-
In my view, you are both a year late and following a team from the wrong end of the 7 Sisters road, but I am sure our mutual love of Kalkan overcomes the rest.
Good luck with Pasha. Mrs Eniste and I are still hoping to move out permanently in April/May, so we will drop in for a beer, assuming my nerves have calmed down after last night''s farce in Burnley! I am trying to find out whether there are any customs advantages to importing our stuff under wifey''s name, as a Turkish citizen, but they seem to have all angles covered, even requiring foreign diplomats to pay duty on electronic items imported! And don''t get me started on the car.....

Yes good luck gooner with Pasha..we will pop in for drinky- poos in june!! who knows maybe Eniste will buy me a beer? which i shall of course return the favour on a tit for tat basis :D..(p.s.why were spurs wearing popsocks last night?) ;)

BL
It depends, like last year, whether or not I am approached by any nice, like-minded ladies. But I''m sure that can meet up (Cinar Bar?) and offer each other advice as our teams change leagues.....

Hi all. Anyone know where Adele & Yusef have gone?? I know they have gone their seperate ways but was just wondering if they are both in Kalkan. Does seem a shame as they both seemed to be making a good go of it. Just goes to show that nobody knows what goes on behind the scenes. I wish them both well.
