I can also vouch for Intasure. Very easy to deal with - comprehensive cover, all policies are written in English and most importantly they cover Public Liability for interior AND exterior communal areas, which Turkish insurers don''t do.

We insured B & C 5 yrs ago through Ali Tunç (Anadolu Sigorta?). We had a burglary in our first year and Ali assured us there would be no problem with the claim. The claim process was straightforward - report crime and missing items to Gandarma (who then inspect crime scene) and insurance agent. The insurance company, however, refused to pay (about £2500 claimed). The reason was that the Gandarma crime report stated that, because our windows were not barred, we had ''invited'' the burglars in. Ali was not at all helpful. Our solicitor wrote to the company pointing out that owners in occupancy should not have to lock and bar their windows in summer, and they eventually paid half the claim. It''s possible, of course, that other companies would have reacted similarly, but we changed our insurers anyway after our negative experience.
B & C insurance is different here in that contents are not covered when they''re not in the building - so laptops, mobile phones, watches, jewellery etc. are not covered if lost or stolen unless on a separate travel insurance.
