Title: Kalkan Fast Food Cafe
Post by: kalkan4eva on November 20, 2008, 06:22:08 PM
Does anyone know if Kalkan Fast Food Cafe - opened this year on the roundabout opposite Tesko - managed to survive? We visited a couple of times for lunch - it was lovely and the staff were so obliging but more often than not we were the only two people in there. Really hope they will still be trading when we''re back next year. Any information from residents would be gratefully appreciated.
 :)

We went there this evening and had a mixed grill 10ytl, very good value. Their burger and chips for 3ytl must be the cheapest snack in Kalkan!

It always seemed to be closed to me on a lunchtime, maybe that was because it was early June? Other holidaymakers told me it was only open in the evening. I often wondered what it was like because all I wanted for lunch was a cheap snack.  Hopefully next year I may get to try it, as Kalkan needs a reasonable priced lunch venue.  :)

No - that is still Omar''s place..and still there - run by Omar!!

kalkan fast food is up the left hand side of Tesko (if you stand facing Tesko) just before the Extinct fish restaurant and Oz Adana.  I think it has a brown(ish) outside....???

My boys LOVED the lovely cheeseburgers and chips at such a good price (as an extra snack...well you know what teenage boys are like.!!!)  ;D ;D

I think Kalkan got a few reasonable priced lunchtime venues already e.g. Ali Baba''s and Trio (lunchtime menu) are both great value.

Great to know it''s still there...thanks for all your replies!!

Cougar - how early do you lunch?? We used to call in there at about 2pm for ours and we were also in Kalkan in early June this year. As I''ve said on this thread we were usually the only two people in there, so it may have looked closed.
My BH said it was the best doner kebab in Kalkan - he asked for chilli sauce and next thing we knew one of the staff was running over to Tesko to get some  That''s what you call service!

Great little place, great value and does what it says on the tin ;D

Kalkan4eva, i must say im sure it was before 2pm! and i sometimes used to think am i too early? but i looked in the window to see if it was open cos the seats were outside all the time. A couple of times i eat at a really cheap place next to the fruit & veg shop, by the roundabout, doner and 2 drinks, 4ytl.  Thats what i call cheap, mind you, i really wanted something a bit tastier. I did usually lunch at Tomato but sometimes wanted something very cheap where you could just sit and get your own drink from the fridge without all the extra service! Anyway i will try again next year :)
