I chose mine because I lived in Minsk for a time and loved it, although I am possibly not much of a babe!! (nor am I Belorussian..)

Mine is Turkish for the male partner/husband/appendage of a female relative, or something like that, so my Turkish wife''s (and now my) nephews and nieces refer to me as EniÅŸte, which I hope and believe is meant to be a term of respect.  More and more now seem to be referring to me as "uncle" or older brother", which is nice but mildly ageist.

Without delving too deep, does anyone know of any/many other British men married to Turkish ladies, living in Kalkan?  I have met numerous couples the other way around, as it were, but few our way!

Mine''s very boring - because I am one!

EniÅŸte, my friends brother is married to a Turkish lady from Antalya but they live in Holywell in north Wales - not quite as sunny there as Kalkan  ;D

Ooh, Ooh, me sir, I know the answer, sir!  Any beer-related prizes available?

Isn''''t this a fun thread?  Are we allowed to deliberate on what other users'' screen names mean?

Fidimax

I might have guessed that the Feds had been former police officers or undercover US agents, had I not met them back in the summer and got the answer.  I would never have guessed yours was after your dogs - I would have gone for some sort of video recording format or that you claimed to the biggest fan of the popular performer 50 (fiddy) cent!

Perhaps Kalkan4eva can tell us more about Eva.

Or Belorusbabe can explain why she didn''t go for Minsk Minx (easy for you to say)?

Martyn E

Were your parents fans of Vermouth?  Martini?!  Geddit?

I''ll get my coat.......

As another clue, my family name does feature on my posts but not in my user name.

My cousin has a black labrador bitch (sorry) called Pepsi, who recently "entertained" a Max, prompting much hilarity at the kennels, especially for fans of the ubiquitous soft drink!

One of Pepsi''s pups was allegedly named G*nner, after the french football team, and I hope he never mates with my cousin''s other bitch, called Ria!.....

Can we not call them "golden" any more?

Are we heading slightly off topic?

Some call them Golden, some call them Yellow,I think Golden is used more for retrievers.

Sorry to disappoint, Eniste...Eva doesn''t exist as a person...my monica is paying homage to textspeak..cos I thought it would make me appear hip and trendy  :-[ At the 70''s night in Kleo our friends..and even my BH near choked on their Efes when they heard me introducing myself as "Kalkan Forever "(4 eva - gettit?) - my BH felt it would be more suited to a seventies porn star, than a mother of three grown-up children  :o.

Oh well, too late to change it now...I couldn''t keep up with all Hoca''s name changes recently, so I won''t embark on that course of action.

As for The Feds...I think the answer is no.4

I,m copying the Feds - plagiarism being the sincerest form of flattery and I will buy a large beer (or glass of wine if preferred) for the first member to guess which definition is mine

Lantana - A 2001 Australian detective movie about a female psychiatrist who comes to a bad end

            - A small town in Florida celebrated for its green credentials

            - A rock chick band heralded as country music''s newest sensation

            - A flowering shrub described in gardening books as ''a brilliant bloomer with bad manners''

lantana

Haha K4E - WRONG (re the Feds) I too know the answer (but I''ll not snitch...LOL!!).   ;D ;D

Well at the 70''s night - of course you had to introduce yourself by your forum name - coz otherwise nobody would have known who you were..!!  :o  Wasnt that a good night - when do you think we can repeat it...??   ???  Maybe in celebration of Jon and Jules forthcoming marriage - any excuse - they don''t have to be there....LOL!  Oops slapped wrist -going off topic...

Mmmmm Lantana - I''m stuck - but I''d love a glass of Angora white... so I''m going for the film - sounds like you might like a good movie...and maybe you have an Aussie connection..????? :D :D

Yelkenite; again not very imaginative but Yelken was the name of the hotel on the Kalamar road we used to stay at and where our apartment is now! Marvellous.

Dont talk to me about Mojito''s; they do a really fierce one at Nobu in Mayfair and at the firms do a couple of years ago I got terribly over the top on them. Wont go anywhere near them again.  lol   Bill x

Mines my first name and viva is a group my son was bass player in called Viva High Rollers who played in dubious clubs and pubs in Sheffield, he''s now in Dave Woodcock and the Dead Comedians (yes hes one of the dead ones !) and still playing in some shady establishments round Rotheram and Sheffield.I don''t think Jacquidead has the same ring to it. :)

Lantana,

I resorted to cheating (Google) and see that the Aussie movie and the bad-mannered plant appear to be right, but could not count out the other two, so is the answer "e) all of the above"?

Mrs E loves Mojitos, but whenever I hear the word, I think of a fairly recent James Bond movie and a certain orange bikini emerging from the waves.  That''''s enough to get me feeling dizzy!

My message picture has changed from C Montgomery Burns from teh Simpsons to a rather snazzy flag.  Any guesses which flag it is?  Part of the answer is loosely Kalkan-related.....

Re Lantana''s I''d go for a flowering shrub I think.   John''s I know but will leave people guessing.

To borrow/share the reply from turkeyfan - because I am one!

Lantana, had you down for the flowering shrub, was not aware of the other options, will research a bit and maybe have another guess.

John (Feds) I will tentatively go with option 2 ( I think... or was I dreaming?)

Ok then, in the same vein as TheFeds, you choose:

1. I''m a fan of Dean Martin - number 2 of the ''Rat Pack''
2. R A T are my initials and my dad was rat1
3. I''m a rat 2 everybody
4. Guess what position I flew in the R------''s Aerobatic Team

number 1? - - - maybe, but? I don''t know - - - I know one song and I certainly identify with that!

number 2? - - - with a bit of searching, I don''t think so.

number 3? - - - I VERY MUCH DOUBT! and you already said you don''t like "text speak"

number 4? - - - I''d like to think, - - -  that would be every lads dream!
