Just had a great suggestion from a member, Jen, about people posting when they are in Kalkan so people could meet up for a drink etc if they wished.
I have now made the calendar editable by everyone, so why not add an event for when you are in Kalkan!

Have been greedy booking two lots of two weeks, but what the heck, love it! Already had two weeks in June and am now counting the days until 17 September. Will be celebrating my birthday - listen out for the champagne corks on the 18th!

Hi holidayfever how are you gettin on with the ticket situ? hope everything turns out ok for you. i believe avro are going to honour the booking for you is this right? if so i suppose pick tickets up from airport which is where??? fingers crossed for you.

;DOh thank you so much for that, we are all smiling now, Avro did honour the deal, and they even sent tickets recorderd to us, so very happy we fly from Manchester on Monday.
I did however e.mail Flydeals.com and asked them why they were still on the internet, got a reply, said an other company had bought them out and were using there website and name ??? I wonder if I would trust them again.
Oh well, alls well that ends well. Just hope the next bits of our 1st D.I.Y holiday go to plan.

its a 3hr drive from ours up to glasgow but hey saved an absolute fortune cause fly back when the scottish children are back at school hence not classed as summer hols.

Will they run out of EFES?? But more importantly - will there be enough sun to go around us all....we are all SERIOUSLY in need of some now - I am going brown with rust - and I would rather be going brown with tan..!!

Just make sure you all save some sun for the last week in October. :)
Had a week in Portugal in May and am still hoping for a week in the Lake District in August (might just have to accept it's going to rain), so will need some sunshine when we visit Kalkan.

Not been able to get onto the site for while due to the fact I have previously used my work computer during the lunch hour but we recently doubled in size and certain sites have now been blocked! No choice but to finally buy my own and there''ll be no stopping me now - well until Monday 3 September anyway when I''m off for my yearly 2 week fix of Kalkan - 3 working days to go :D

Don''t worry, I''m sure a few of us will meet up after the 20th for a drink. We could leave a message at your favourite watering hole. Let someone know which one it is. Or better still look out for the EnjoyKalkan Badges that will be hanging off handbags, shorts, t-shirts etc. If you see a badge, stop the person wearing it and have a chat (or a beer or both). Hopefully catch up when you''re out there.

Coming out on the 20th for two weeks, staying at Hotel Nur. Will look out for the badges. I will be most recogniseable in the evenings as I will be the only Englishman wearing bright shorts with a TURKISH football shirt !!!! Obviously there will be variations from night to night.

Just wanted you to know that Kalkan ıs just as you remembered ıt - beautıful and relaxıng. I met up wıth Brooksıe yesterday and we''ve confırmed wıth Omar about tomorrow nıght. We''ll be takıng lots of pıctures and Jon we have been talkıng to lots of our Turkısh frıends locally and have gıven out lots of stıckers. It wıll be lovely when everyone spots where they are. beware of the flip flops in the market...shakira informs me a pair of plastic orange and green ones have been spotted :o...the fashion police are on the look out!!!mine are black with a go faster stripe along the side...this will enable me to overtake taxis ...... :D :D

Oh yes, my flip flops are on standby. They''re industrial strength ones I bought when we were in Kalkan the first time, my original cheap pair got broken in the ice cold current at Saklikent as you cross the river at the beginning!

long long time since I''ve posted but have been keeping up to date with everything, especially the taxi debate.
I''m off to Kalkan on Friday for one week, can''t wait, hopefully the last trip before we finally move over there next year, fingers crossed.

The cases are just about packed - now it''''s time for a bit liquid refreshment and hopefully a few hours sleep, before getting up at 3am for our taxi to the airport. Departure at 7am should see us in Kalkan mid afternoon. Let''''s hope that the sun shines. ;D

Because of work commitments, for the first time ever we will be going to Kalkan the first 3 weeks in August, unfortunately clashing with schoolhols :(. Right pain trying to find reasonable priced flights at the moment :o

We are in Kalkan February 2nd -9th although slightly worried about our flights after Felicity and Chris'' exeprience. We have already had to rebook out flights with Onur air as the original Onur Air flights were cancelled. We too will be staying in our apartment for the first time.

All the great things you Kalkan addicts have said about the place have got us really excited we''re both like a pair of kids, anyone would swear we''d never set foot abroad before. We have had so many visits in the last couple of years that have been taken up with shopping for the apartment and getting everything organised - it''s been a bit drawn out to say the least. This time we intend actually seeing more of the surrounding area and taking a trip or three.

What a great site this is! My wife and i will be returning to Kalkan on 6th October for 11 days having last been there in 2003.Not been able to return until now due to family circumstances.We are staying,again,at the Lizo,so if anyone else is there then we can have a drink together.Reading this site it seems as though there have been some changes in Kalkan but i am sure the overall effect will not have altered.

having browsed this site for the past few weeks we feel know the place already.
We are staying at an apartment at the Nur hotel for two weeks.
It would be great to make some new friends while we are there,we will be easy to find as my wife
Carole will be the one swimming 50 or so lengths of the pool every morning about 8 a.m..I will

We visited the Lykia last week when we out there. Jon had a tour around and he said it was stunning and the rooms were lovely. I visited the spa which was great, the views are amazing and the pool and bar area are beautiful too. I''m sure you will have a wonderful time there- please post a report when you get back so we can all hear what it was like.

The 8 weeks is only a one off for this year, due to the fact that my daughter is doing her GCSEs at the moment, so we had to sacrifice our 2 weeks in May, and add them to the summer holiday ;D

29th July for 4 weeks. Staying 1st week in Hisaronu with friends we met a few years ago who have their own apartments then coming home to Kalkan for 3 weeks. Can`t wait this time as we missed our week at Easter. Toffeelad.

We''re off to Kalkan tomorrow for 2 weeks and hope to try some new places that we haven''t been to before - Chops in Islamlar, Nars, Gironda at Coast, Kalamaki, Cafe Vita as well as our old favourites. We are also looking forward to the music nights at Nur and will be cheering along Felicity and the Wellie Belly dancers next Thursday at Kleo Bar!

Me and Hubby back for second time this year on 24th August for two weeks fantastic. Can't wait to get away from rainy, gloomy Wales :( Just looking forward to feel the warm sun on our skin with a nice cold Efes to hand! Counting the days, more exciting than Christmas! ;D

We're off to Kalkan on 4th September and can't wait. It will be our third visit and it sounds like there have been quite a few restaurant changes since we were last there in 2007.
This is my first posting on this site although I look at it frequently and have gained a lot of knowledge from all you other helpful people - thanks.

Hi Chardan, glad you're looking forward to Kalkan, we'll be arriving the same day as you, we're flying from Cardiff, where are you flying from? Never know we might be on the same flight. I'm sure you'll love Kalkan like the rest of us Kalkan addicts on here. We went for the first time last year then returned last June, we intended going back to Kefalonia for our second holiday this year but I'm afraid the Kalkan bug was just too much to resist, had to go back again. Well hope you'll have a great time, nothing not to like really, endless sunshine, breathtaking scenery, irresistable food and the most friendly people ever :D. Don't forget to partake of the famous Efes, all part of the Kalkan experience an ice cold Efes watching the sun go down, heaven :angel: Enjoy !! 8) 8)

We are arriving on the 9th september for two weeks, we are staying at my daughter,s villa in Kalama Bay, we shall be dining at cafe Vita quite a few times, as we love it there, so if you see two old age pensioner,s who are seventy years old, male white hair, female light brown (dyed of course) not to fat, not to slim, come over to say hello.
By the way my hair is shoulder length, not the white hair one , the light brown dyed one.

I'm not out to Kalkan again until mid-September so am trying not to start counting days just yet. It is only a month since the last visit but seems a long time already. In the meantime looking at pictures on the gallery and also at the webcams. Anyone else out there addicted to looking at the webcams, not just on this site but also KTLN?

25th July - August 1st then moving on to Patara for second week. First time to Kalkan, first time to Turkey. Lone mum with 11 year old daughter. Hope to find some companions for us both to double the fun. Always feel a bit 'out of it ' surrounded by the conventional families of 2.4 children so please say hi to this new twosome. Staying at Kalkan Apartments first week. Can't wait!

Neil and Bev will be arriving on Thursday evening. If you see a 6'4'' Ginger haired guy, probably wearing a very gay looking cowboy type hat dodging the sun and a brown haired half naked sun worshipper say hello and well gladly share a few Efes with you. Have previously met some great people on previous visits and hope to meet more!
