wetherspoons sell it for £1.89 large bottle ;)

:D That will make a trip to Colchester brighter in future . It was £1.75 a bottle in Morrisons.Very civilised.
-
Yep - they sell it in my local Tesco too - good price in there too..but it just don''t taste quite like it does in Kalkan..why is that..?? ??? ???

Efes needs to be really cold, in a frosted glass & drank to cool you down in the sun!
-
I think it''s the place that makes the Efes taste good. Even American beer might taste reasonable in Kalkan.....
-
It doesn''t taste the same because like genuine Jamaican Red Stripe larger its brewed in Burton on Trent under licence !!!
Not only that sitting at home drinking it is not the same as down by the harbour on a roof top terrace etc etc......

Only £1.19 a 500cl bottle at Booth''s supermarket for us lucky people in the north. How much is Kadir charging now at the bar in Kaya?

I agree with EniÅŸte, it being on holiday and the sunshine that makes it taste good (well ok anyway) in Kalkan. After a two weeks in Kalkan one of the few things I like about getting home is being able to have a decent pint.

One of the best fish and chip places in London - not trying to start a competition - is the Rock & Sole Plaice in Endell St, Covent Garden. It is run by a Turkish family and serves cold Efes!! Well worth a visit. Alan

I will be in Covent Garden in the next week or two (taking my daughter and friend to the transport museum) and may well take up your recommendation re the Fish and Chips - probably not the Effes though as being from Blackpool the only drink that goes with Fish and Chips is a mug of tea.
