My daughter is flying to Kalkan next Monday 1 September for a week with friends.
Her passport expires 4 Jan 09.
I have just looked at Turkey Visa information www.turkishconsulate.org.uk.en/visa and if I have read it correctly it seems that she needs a minimum of six months validity on her passport when she arrives in Turkey.
Does anyone have any experience of this.

Yes, she will need to get a new passport. I have had to shell out for a new one myself this year as the 6 months start 4 days before I return home from Kalkan. One plus side is they do add any months left on your old one (if less than 9 months) onto your new passport. I fly out next Monday too - 4 working days to go 8)

Yes she needs to have at least 6 months on her passport according to the Turkish Consular web-site, see here

I would suggest you have a look on the UK Passport web-site
http://www.ips.gov.uk/passport/index.asp
for more information, in case she needs to renew her passport before she goes.

I actually emailed the Turkish Consulate earlier this year about this and this is the reply I had "British Passport holders should have at least 3 months valid Passport during the departure date from Turkey."
We went end of May with one of our passports expiring in early November and had no problems at all. We renewed them as soon as we returned though and they took about 2 weeks to come through. Renewed online and then sent passports by recorded delivery.

Thank you all for your replies. Sarah is off to the passport office on Wednesday, appointment booked for 15.15 so should be ok for flight to Kalkan on Monday.
