Would agree with your first - ''That view'' (and it brings a lump to my throat when I leave

Followed by:

Diving into the sea at Kalamar

Sitting at the Kleo bar with a G ''n'' T at the start of an evening.

And if I can have a fourth - seeing all our friends again & being amazed at how they remember you & your names.

1. discovering the beautiful reality of Kalkan exceeded my (already high) expectations
2. the sunlight sparkling on crystal clear, bluest of blue sea whilst sipping a Bombay & Tonic on the balcony
3. enjoying a fabulous meal with wonderful company in Coast, gazing across the moonlit landscape.

a cheeky extra - discovering enjoykalkan.com which was invaluable in helping us plan for our first visit  :)

You know how for some things the anticipation is better than the actual event itself? Kalkan isn''t like that for me at all. Yes the anticipation is brilliant but nothing like coming round the bend after Akbel and seeing it all laid out.  Fantastic.  Never wears out either.  Sorry to divert slightly but felt I had to say it. Too much really to mention just 3 items.   Bill

1. Yes that first glimpse of the bay.

2. Walking into our apartment and thinking this is really ours.

3. The first trip into town and locals asking as they greet you, when did you arrive? how long are you staying? just as they would an old friend.

Having just come back last night from another wonderful week with too many bests to mention, but what stopped my heart beating was the view as you come round the bend on the new road. It is - well it is just breathtaking to see both Kalamar and Kalkan bays together.
The hairs on my arms have stood up again at the thought of it. I really didnt think the view coming in to Kalkan could get better but WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

Think I might just have to pop out again to see it.

1) That first view....sorry to be so predicatable! (do we still get a good view on the new rd?)
2) Watching the sun set on another fab day, on the balcony, with a Bombay Sapphire GTO in hand and the warm setting sun on our faces. Tha colours of the sky are really magical.
3) Going for our visit to my favourite jewellers and knowing i WILL find something i like!  ;)

1. Being the last two people at Palm Beach Club, catching every last ray of sun.

2. Being on any balcony and looking at the beautiful turquoise sea..preferably involving alcohol and later on a sunset.

3. Being out on a boat all day

1. Waking up on the first morning in Kalkan to the sound of the mosque calling... such a comforting sound that seems to say "home again!"
2. Getting warm, fresh filled rolls from the Nur Patisserie opposite the apartment and eating them on our balcony with freshly filtered coffee, looking up at the mountains with the sun peeping over the top...
3. Putting up the umbrella on said balcony because it''''s already getting hot, hot, hot!

So that''''s three magic moments, all before ten o''''clock am on the first day!!!
