Title: KAPSA help needed!
Post by: kalkankediler on July 29, 2008, 02:12:25 PM
We currently have 3 cats at a vet in Fethiye that have all been having treatments for severe wounds. We are hoping to bring them back to Kalkan tomorrow, but need to find temporary homes for 2 of them, so that they can continue with their recovery. If anyone would be willing to take on one or two of these animals for a short period of time, to look after them in a safe environment, please email me as soon as possible.

And if anyone would be willing to be on call for this type of help in the future, please do let us know.

Given the volume of animals that are getting injured this year, the amount spent on treatment has already been substantial and Kapsa needs to raise a lot more money. All donations, gifts etc most gratefully received.

Is there anyway Jon can set up online donations on EK to KASPA. We always give when we are in Kalkan, but as we are only there once a year, usually, there''s a limit to what we can give. I''d probably use my debit card and give more frequently if there was something like this available.

Or Kalkankediler, perhaps you could advertise (if EK Safety permits) how members of the forum could make regular donations directly to KASPA''s bank account. Is that possible from the UK or would you need to set up a UK KASPA bank account to do this...and collect Gift Aid this way too? Not sure, but I can look into this for you if you want?

I think most people want to help, but I couldn''t find any modes of money collection - other than at Abi - for KASPA when we were there in June...and as Linda''s tin didn''t actually say it was for KASPA I did think there might be more than one outfit trying to look after the street animals at the same time.

You are doing a wonderful job, and I just want to help if I can.

Thank you so much. Organisation has taken so much of our time. However, it looks as though we might be able to set up an account at one of the Turkish banks in the UK, which would make donations from the UK so much easier, and save people wasting money on transfer fees. Once the account reached a certain amount, it could then be transferred to a Kapsa account in Kalkan. Will keep you posted as to how this is going. Thanks for all your support and help.

That''s perfect.

Please post on EK as soon as this is set up and I''m sure you will get loads of people signing up for committed giving. It''s not easy to set up a charity in the UK, so I expect it is just as difficult abroad. Hat''s off to you and the rest of KASPA for undertaking this tremendous challenge.

As we walk everywhere in Kalkan and beyond, we actually quite like our canine escorts home and really appreciate the care and attention given to these animals by yourselves. Thanks.

Sorry but EK could not handle the collecting of money for KASPA for audit reasons, however I am more than happy to put a link / details on the main website if you want to contact me  :)

Linda from Abi travel took on a little black kitten that had to have it''s tail removed by Babar the vet 4 years ago after i found it suffering at the Samira Hotel. I would love to know if she still has it. Although i was in Kalkan last week i didn''t see her to ask.(don''t know if she is an EK member? or if she will remember me)
