I''ve just found a few million Lira of old money in a drawer, does anybody know if you are able to change this is Turkey or is it now usless?

I think you can only change them at the Central Turkish Bank but perhaps someone else maybe able to advise whether any of the other banks will change them.

Unless it''s lots and lots and lots of billions of old Lira I would suggest that you frame it as a keepsake  ::)

The Zirat bank in Fethiye will change old money until 2010. But if you only have a few notes, it is hardly worth the journey. You can give the old notes to Linda at Abi Travel, she changes old notes when she has collected a sufficient sum and the money is then used to help fund the street animal neutering programme.

It''s a very good cause and helps to control the numbers of homeless dogs and cats.

I think the best option will be for me to spend all of my old new notes in Kalkan this year, so when I next come out I can get some new new notes. As I have a few old old notes, I will give them to Linda.
