Title: Villa Tulu?
Post by: freckles on June 17, 2008, 10:25:25 PM
Hi there,

My boyfriend and I are staying in Villa Tulu this summer, I was just wondering if anyone has stayed there before and what their thoughts are?

The villa looks really lovely and the owners who we have booked through have been fantastic but as this is our first trip in Kalkan and I found this forum I thought it would be worth an ask..

We also have a few nights before we can arrive in the villa so if anyone has any suggestions where we could stay that would be great - I am struggling between the Asiyan, Mediteran or even staying in Kas (we''re both keen divers) so any thoughts would be welcome!

Thanks so much

Freckles   :)

Hi Freckles - welcome to the Forum! Sorry I can''t help with your villa - but the Asiyan is VERY well located for walking into the town - mediteran is very high up - but you get stunning views - so it really depends on what you want - another alternative would be the Meldi - www.meldihotel.com which is also very well located for town!

Enjoy!

Another hotel I''ve heard good reports about is the Rhapsody, and if you fancy splashing out a bit then the Kalkan Regency is supposed to be very good. I think you can dive in Kalkan as well, I''ve seen divers in the harbour.

cheers

The diving in Kalkan is good - there are essentially three diving companies - two in the harbour and one in the Kalamar beach club. None of them maintain offices this year so your best bet is to wander down to the harbour and catch the crew on the boats in the evening. As for accommodation, the Rhapsody would be a good option but you would need to check availability as they do tend to fill up in July. If you want to stay close to the diving, ie the harbour, the Hotel Pirat is right on the harbour & should have availability. It''s a basic but comfortable hotel, so good for a few nights and can''t beat the convenient location!

Good luck and hope you enjoy!

The whole family are regular divers and would reccomend Dolphin Scuba team who we have dived with for the last few years. Kamil and Birgit are always very helpful. Its the larger boat in the harbour but if you want to make contact beforehand see  www.dolphinscubateam.com .Some superb photos and videos on the site of the waters and dives around Kalkan.

Would also highly reccomend the Mediteran .Ahmet and staff very friendly cant do enough for you. Superb views and food.
