Title: sea fishing trips
Post by: glynwills on June 07, 2008, 05:00:22 PM
Hello
New to the site and a new visitor to Kalkan in late July.

Looking so forward to it, seems like we may have struck gold in them there hills...

Does anyone know about sea fishing trips for tourists ?

Are there boats who will take you out and provide rod, bait and equipment etc. ?

Also details what fish you might catch, cost etc and any experiences of fishing from past visitors appreciated.

Hope someone can help me... kind regards, Glyn.    ;D

You can go fishing but in July you will not catch a lot. Kalkan bay is very heavily fished through the winter and is netted close inshore nearly all year the fish that escape these then run the gauntlet of scuba divers with spear guns, if you come September or October you have more chance but don''t expect anything special. Sorry

Thanks for your reply, much appreciated, I will see what''s going on when I get there, probably not worth spending much on a fishing trip if there isn''t a lot to catch! :)

Best thing, you can fish on the day trip boats but not like sea fishing as such
