Title: Return visit
Post by: popps on May 27, 2008, 07:35:27 PM
Hi all, we''re soon set for our return visit to Kalkan (we were there last mid-May 2007). Has anything changed since then, in the way of development? Last time we were there a new shopping centre was about to be built, owned by the brother/cousin (?) of the owner of Yali''s Bar. Is Yali''s Bar still going, by the way?

We''re travelling independently this time, staying at the Villa Lemonia. Does anyone know this, and how far walking distance it is to the centre of town? Looking foward to another meal at Omar''s. :)

Sounds like you are referring to the Yali supermarket, just below the Nur Hotel, but I think that was already there last year?

Anyway, have a great stay back in Kalkan. You lucky people, we have got to wait until September!

Hi Popps - you won''t find much difference from a year ago - a few more villas and aparts sprung up - but nothing too major - some restaurants closed or re-opened under a different name.  The Yali supermarket was open last year - but that was about it in that complex - now there is a lot more there - Atlantis Hammam and over it a gym, the Mediteran travel agency - but still some unopened units.  Yali supermarket has definitely expanded and got bigger and there is a new bank - in fact a couple of new banks opposite each other..!!

Oh and you know that Omar''s has moved up just beyond the Yali supermarket do you..?  :o

Not sure where your villa is though - sorry!!
