Title: Excited new Member
Post by: ndwalker26 on May 26, 2008, 11:38:30 PM
Hi,

I''ve just been reading all the wonderful posts on Kalkan and can''t contain my excitement. I''m coming to Kalkan for 2 weeks on the 2nd June with my Boyfriend and his dad and I can''t decide what to do or where to go first. We''re staying at the Round House Villa - does anyone know where this is situated and how near we are to amenities etc. Also does anyone have any maps of Kalkan or can you point me in the direction of where to get one?

Any suggestions for places to eat, trips to take or just general advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Natalie.

Hi Natalie

Round House villa is very nice and about a 10 minute downhill walk to the first shops & restaurants and a further 5 minutes into the centre of Kalkan, so a good spot.  It is a uphill walk back so it''s either a slow stroll or a taxi.

Go for the burn, Natalie...if you''re able :) The uphill walk a couple of times a day is a great fat burner!!!....If, like me, you want to indulge in a little alcohol and good food (and believe me the food is wonderful in Kalkan) whilst on holiday then you''ve stumbled on the perfect combination. Walking everywhere guarantees I don''t look like a burst sausage in my "thin" clothes by the second week whilst still enjoying fabulous food, plenty of cocktails and gin with full-fat tonic  ;D ;D.
When we book our accommodation a decent walk into the center of Kalkan is a given   8) 8)

Thanks everyone for replying. I''m on countdown now till Monday.
Sounds like we''ve got a great spot - the stroll will be good for working off all the fabulous food and efes that I will be indulging in. Thank goodness I''m here for 2 weeks, sounds like I''ll need more than that to try all the restaurants.
I''m going to change the majority of my money when I get to Kalkan, what''s a good exchange rate at the moment?

Hi
Got back this morning and the rate has slipped a bit to 2.38 to 2.40, but Kalkan is still good value.
