Title: Burger Bar
Post by: Hoca on May 01, 2008, 01:55:33 PM
It seemed to me that the burger bar was getting some good reviews is this why the thread was deleted? And to all who think that having any thing but roof top restaurants is sacrilege then spare a thought for those that cannot afford or do not want to sit on a roof. People may not come to Turkey to eat a burger they can do that down any high street but what if you live here be you Turkish or English.

The post has been locked, but not deleted.
Its still available to view under ''restaurants, bars and nightlife'' under the heading of ''which restaurants are the best?''.

I went to Fast Burger on the roundabout 3 or 4 times whilst in Kalkan and couldnt speak highly enough of it - it was such a welcome change to be able to grab a quick snack at lunch times or on the way back from somewhere

2 fresh chicken donners - 5 YTL - certainly cant complain!

The thread "which restaurant is best" was locked as it was getting very long and not very descriptive  :)

Do they do lamb doner kebabs....? Everyone mentions the chicken ones, but my BH would prefer lamb if they''re on offer?

Yes I think they did do lamb as Jon had one, not donner meat but a bit like meatballs on sandwhich . The donner sandwhiches were lovely on nice fresh chunky bread with a bit of everything of them even chips  ;D ! They also did turkish burgers and other sandwhiches like tuna etc. Great for lunch on go !

I''m going there in May when Sarah''s not looking. She doesn''t like me eating burgers, she reckons they give me wind. I think it''s the beer personally. Oops I just dribbled on my keyboard!

It''ll be really nice just to have a snack meal some evenings - & not succumb to the temptations of more than one course, pudding etc!

Sorry at least now it has it''s own thread i don''t think they do lamb doner but they do kofte which is minced lamb cooked on the hot plate there are a few more kebab places now there is one next to Kleo bar that is doing durum kebabs (rolled in flat bread not from north east England) they are 3.50 lira. Look out for the corn man (misirci) in summer and the man with the muscles on a bbq

Do you remember the sea food men that came round the pubs at week ends selling stuff. The standing joke was have you got any muscles mate, if you have can you move the juke box, obviously he was asked if he had crabs as well.
