What is happening in Kalkan with the virus ?
-
Have heard of one death, the town looks eerily quiet on Korsan webcams, not a vehicle or person in sight. They are probably in some sort of lockdown.
-
Everything here is pretty much closed and the town is very quiet - bars, restaurants and most shops are closed. The only ones open are supermarkets, bakeries, pharmacies and the DIY stores as building work is generally continuing. Those over 65 and under 20 are not allowed out and as of last night at midnight there is a curfew on everybody for just 48 hours - this is a countrywide directive. No reported cases nor deaths in Kalkan - 2 deaths in Fethiye (our nearest pandemic hospitals) and just rumours in Kas Before the curfew - inter province travel is not possible - eg Fethiye to Kalkan - road blocks and fines. All beaches, parks etc are also out of bounds....while the infection rate is rising fast the number of deaths is rather surprisingly low......

That sounds much better than the uk , hopefully it will stay that way

We are in some extremely sad times.
At Easter, we are usually staring to get excited about our forthcoming trip to Kalkan. This year, we just don’t really know.
Has anyone heard what the hotels are likely to do?
Stay safe everyone, take care.

Who knows.....I don't anybody knows at this relatively early stage! :(

So sad to read.... Hopefully next year will be a bumper year and more importantly everyone stays safe

I feel very sad for all there and everywhere ... so looking forward to my trip in September I hope we can still come and enjoy kalkan as much as we do ! I will never take for granted swimming in that gorgeous sea and diving off Muddys boat ! Take care all! X
