Title: EasyJet flights
Post by: cleworthallray on November 07, 2019, 09:13:51 AM
Got up at 5.15. EasyJet came on line by phone app at 6.00. Still not on line on the PC. When I saw the price I was really disappointed as they came in at £763.45 per couple including seats and 1 x 23k case per couple. I had booked us in by 6.02. Went back to bed. At 8.30 I checked again. Amazingly they had gone up to £947.45 per couple so very pleased. I saved £368 between the 4 of us. Think they will go over £1000 before long. Flights are clearly going to be sky high this year probably because less planes flying with others going bankrupt. 😎

Blantant profiteering by Easyjet, their prices are so high that it will put people off from coming.
Interesting that Thomas Cook's flight times, routes and landing slots are being auctioned very soon which may bring much welcomed competition

Good look blue. We like the easyJet flight times. Tc and Jet2 have not been so good for us. Be interesting to see if they make them cheaper than their own other company easyJet. I smell a Cartel. Our 4 flights were at £1526 now at £2076. Mad

We have got money back from HSBC for our Thomas Cook flights (2 peeps, luggage and seats £676 booked In June) The night they announced they had gone bust I booked BA flights as I was at work on nights announced at 3 ..booked by 3.30 (aprox £850 for same ,similar daytime flight times etc so car booking was good still)
After 30+ years we were getting a bit stale of Kalkan and were waivering and certain things whilst on our hols this year kind of made up our minds for us so we have decided on elsewhere..upshot is Equal/ Better standard of villa rental for £250 PW less,£100 saved on shorter transfer..we even got this years meet and greet parking £50 cheaper so have dragged back a fair whack on that plus the fact that prices are aprox 25% cheaper in restaurants etc (this year it was anyway)..Nooooo I hear you say, but tis true ..honest!
I can even wear a vest top without being peered at from over the top of glasses or whisperings from the elite ! >:D
Will I miss Kalkan? who knows
I will still be spying at whats going on on here :P

Sounds interesting blue. Would it be cheeky to ask where it is that you’ve found new. Promise not to turn up and frown at what your wearing. I’ve never seen that in kalkan but I have read comments about it. We like to get away as much as possible but still enjoy kalkan for our relaxing holiday. Hope that continues. Regards

Glad you're still on here BL, I thought you'd gone quiet of late. Glad to see you back and there's nothing wrong with a change of scenery.
It will be good to hear your thoughts and experiences of pastures new compared to Kalkan. Sorry that your holiday wasn't as enjoyable this year though. We were out at the same time as you in June but I never saw a little Blue Lizard cross my path that I was aware of.  ;)

I'm so glad I booked my easyjet flights to Dalaman for 2020 on the release date. At £480 for 2 I thought this was a bit too much. But having looked at the price today I'm thinking I didn't do too badly.
I think a lot a people will be in the same mindset as Blue Lizard and be searching for new pastures. I can't see that there will be many people taking up these flights at today's prices. It's a shame because I don't think Kalkan will be as busy next year.
I do hope the air fares come down now that the Thomas Cook slots are up for auction.
