Title: new road dalaman to kalkan

Is there anyone knows if the new  road has been completed?

Hi fabio - if you do a search - I think you will find this topic already covered elsewhere but long and short of it is...is that although due to open for this season (and last season!!) in true turkish time - it is not yet finished - particularly the last bit coming into kalkan...so who knows when it will be open....I think too that there are some good photos of it in the photo gallery - posted by the Feds...!!

nearly finished. they said new road will be ready in march.

Hi, Just logged on to the Feds photos and saw the post office is gutted,  is it expected to be open by May or is there a temporary post office somewhere?

yes sorry for my mistake.
i mean may but we are in july and new road is not finished yet. they working so hard to finish that road.
i think will be ready in a month.

Someone please reassure me it will be finished by the 10th of August or at the very least the only work left will be the landscaping ???

And has anyone noticed how steep it looks as it winds down into Kalkan? Will be great for sledging in the winter! Or scooter accidents in the summer...

Re. the new road. Our villa is the one next to Christine''s furniture shop, opposite the bus station. Can anyone now in Kalkan tell me if we still have a car park, or has the new road claimed it?
