Title: Thomas Cook woes !
Post by: brian j p on November 30, 2018, 11:09:12 AM
Booked return tickets with TC for Sept 2019  on 27th Nov  , within 24 hours of booking flight times and seats changes twice. Within 48 hours another time change , aircraft and airline change which means  we need to change seats a third time ,  what a palaver  !   If they can do that within 48 hours god help us between now and Sept 2019

Heard on the news this morning about them stating they have made a loss, blaming the English summer this year. Well suppose thats a new excuse, abit like BR blaming wet leaves on the line for delays. Made no mention as yet  re excuses for  flight delays/flights cancelled etc. By the time you are due out you could be in the pilots seat.

TC are, without doubt, at best, unreliable.

But you have to remember that their flights are based round their package holidays.  Your flight-only offers are just 'the other seats' which with wonderful beneficence they allow you to give them money for.  But you're still even more steerage class than their package customers.

Whatever happened to airlines that actually cared about their paying customers? (come back Petula Clark and BEA >:D)

They've changed our return flight time from Antalya to Manchester in January from a nice day time flight to a night flight and we paid extra for it. Seat change too, I'm thinking they've cancelled our day flight and bunged us onto the red eye. Grrr.

Re. Thomas Cook:

They have introduced some additional flights to Dalaman (various UK departures) for 2019, and although browsing is not comprehensive, they appear to start a new flight with prices 50-85% above average (generally equating to the most expensive flight around that date).

After about three days, it reduces down to about the same as the average.  This is, of course, the opposite to Budget carriers.

Just thought you'd like to note my observations.

Haven't flown with Thomas Cook for at least 20 years. The reason we gave them the boot was the continual change of flight times even then.We had to travel school holidays and with two young boys always went for the best timed flights.i.e. day time. The year that finally finished us  was a change of flight to 3.00am . Plus it was always just under the number of hours for any sort of compensation. They have obviously not improved over the years.
