Title: Craft Beer arrives in Kalkan
Post by: alantj on September 20, 2018, 12:22:56 PM
Good news for those who like their beer and find Effes/Tuborg a bit samey after a while.

The Junction Café is serving a decent  range of Turkish craft beers and the three or four we tried were all very good, most especially the Summer IPA.

As usual craft beer was not a cheap option. The 0.5L bottles were 30L but to me tasted good enough to justify the price, specially with some bars now pushing the price of an Effes well beyond 20L.

If you don't recognise the name, the Junction Café is the latest incarnation for the restaurant that is opposite the entrance to the market (was Café Ev etc).

Hopefully it will last as it is offering something a little different to most other places in Kalkan, in terms of both food and drink. The food we tried was all excellent and good enough value to justify another beer or two.

The owner did say there is another bar in Kalkan offering Turkish craft beer but didn't offer the name and I thought it would be a bit rude to ask.
