Title: The Nitty Gritty
Post by: Blue Lizard on May 15, 2018, 08:06:25 AM
SO.....lets get down to the bones of it..i'm sure some are wondering (or at least I am ::)) What is the cost of drinks this year? Efes in bars / restaurants and a cheeky bottle of wine in bars /restaurants....if you need to research this you have my full admiration as I realise what hard work it is ;D

Ok BL we’ve done a bit of research all in the call of duty  ;D

Efes averages about 15tl so far although we paid 18 at the Asfiya.
Bottle of house white seems to be around 48tl in the restaurants.

I will continue with this arduous task and feed back ad hoc  ;D

Just back from a brief 2 day (setting up a company for all the new tax palaver) visit so not an in depth report but we tried our best. Here are some of the beer prices we found from high to low

        Indigo                              19TL
        Samira De Lux bar            17.5TL
        Moonlight                         16TL
        Botanic                            15TL
        Foto Pizza                         9.5TL

We only had wine in Blue Marlin and Small House both around 48TL for a drinkable bottle of white and red respectively.

In Botanic we overheard a group of expats talking about how most of the cocktail bars had cut back on the amount of spirits in their drinks, most of the favorites were mentioned. Most outrageously of all, some of the bars were now introducing the concept of a double.

Apparently Botanic was now the only place to get a decent full strength cocktail.

We only had a couple of beers so cannot confirm that but the night before I did have a Mojito in another of the cocktail bars that (nice but you couldn't really taste the rum) did seem to bear out their comments.

I tried cocktails in lots of places and I wouldn’t say they were weak but they were all small . They are putting them in different glasses and could then put a lot less in them .

Hot off the press...Fotos pizza beer is now 13TL for a large one...still the cheapest though, and one of the best views!

Just come back from Fotos. Was empty apart from us. Great pizzas/prices and pity not getting more custom.

Totally agree, I can’t eat the pizzas any more but BH said it was the nicest he’s had for a while. Such lovely staff and they do takeaways too!

Their take away service is excellent in our opinion.

We tend to start the night there, watching the sun go down with a couple of drinks and a shared pizza.

Great views and pizza plus bargain beers and wine.
