Hi folks, has anyone tried getting a visa on line lately? I've tried twice in the last 2 days to sort out our visa for May and on neither time have I received the email in step 2. I am using same official site that I always use.
-
On KTLN if you sign in ........in the comments section if you scroll back through a few people have made comment about problems on E Visa site.
-
Hiya, I got ours successfully on monday for travelling tomorrow-just used the normal evisa webpage. Maybe they are updating the website?
-
Got it sorted, eventually, took a while but found a way in the end without receiving the email, seems there might be a problem with them sending to Btinternet email addresses. Still done now and printed off .
-
Exactly the same problem as last year so I don't think it will be fixed anytime soon ::)
-
I bought my e-visa 3 weeks ago well in advance of my departure and when i got to the counter at Dalaman, they said i didn't have a visa, so i had to pay £20 there and then or no entry! stupid me forgot to print a copy of confirmation off so fun and games when i return back to the UK, doubt i will get a refund so in essence paid twice for my visa!
-
We going in 6 weeks time 😊 when do I need to apply for the visa and what web site do I go on? I have done it a few years ago.
Lynne 😎
-
You can apply now ... Just put the start date you want . If you go on to KTLN on the homepage you will find a link to the visa site . This is a genuine visa link and one that I use ;)
-
I read yesterday about a couple who weren't allowed to board their flight to Dalaman from their UK airport as they didn't have a hard-copy visa. It was an easyJet flight and it was only this week. I think there may be more to the story than meets the eye as theoretically you can board a flight without a visa and purchase one on landing. They had copies on their phones but this wasn't acceptable to the boarding crew. We always take a hard-copy anyway but I've never been asked in Dalaman let alone in the UK.

Also be careful if you renew your passport during the validity of the visa as it doesn't transfer over. Found this out last year when it happened to OH and he had to buy a new one at Dalaman
-
The visa will have the number of the old passport which will be different to the new passport ;)
-
People still having problems with visa site.....you can bypass confirmation part which seems to be the sticking point for some by logging out of visa site and going back in again .....Go to "Ongoing Applications" at the bottom of visa page..log in with mail address where prompted and you can copy visa straight away ;)
-
Nobody has mentioned it, but the browser you may be using can also cause these problems.
Edge is notorious for web page issues, and Chrome and Internet Explorer can throw up issues too.
Just try different browser, though the email being blocked is another problem.
-
It seems there's just an issue with BT Mail - been going on for a few years. I got mine through my work email address one year and following BL's advice last year. When you speak to BT they deny there's a problem, when you contact the E-visa people - they tell you its BT as its the only one they have problems with in UK.
We have Turkish owners for the property we rent and their emails go straight to Spam, every single time!
-
K4E (and others), Check whether you're using BT Yahoo Mail (the older legacy system - not the one they use now) or BT Mail.
Yahoo! is particularly awkward about managing mail, I gave up on it years ago!

and see if it helps.
The best advice is have multiple emails. Live Mail and GMail are both highly regarded and manageable. The current thinking is have (at least) two emails (three or more is better) - One for personal (friends and family, never tell a company about it), One for retail stuff (Tesco, Amazon, etc., etc.), and a third for your personal business (if you rent out a property, for example).
This keeps thing tidy, and you can manage them all in one place with GMail, or Outlook (web or as a part of Office).
I also have a BT Mail account, which BT communicate with me through. This is kept active by an automated sending of a message to myself once a week (it expires if you don't use it). It's not used for anything else.
On most of them you can whitelist specific addresses, some email systems are notoriously difficult to get this to work properly, especially if the sender changes their email address.
Hope this helps.

thanks for the advice, Chris_S, much appreciated. We are on the new BT Mail rather than BT Yahoo - conversely didnt have a problem with e-visas until we updated to their new platform. Hey ho! Its no problem, we can work around it...! The other issue we seem to have with BT and Turkey is confirmation of booking the CIP Lounge at Dalaman - the confirmaion email just disappears into the ether. We've given up on it now and just book on the day with the KTLN discount- works out the same.
Not sure about this year with the new terminal - the price may have gone through the roof ::)
-
I’ve just done my e-visas , thanks for all the advice, and then it was easy
;D Lynne
-
I have just bought my E-visas using the link on this site, it was really easy no problems at all. We have 32 days to go now 😎
-
It cost £32.48 , very good exchange rate 😁
-
Visa from the official site is $20 USD...so less than £20 sterling....so I think you have been ripped.... :(
-
No it was $20 that was the exchange rate for two and I used the link on this site
-
Everyone, please make sure you take a paper copy of your Evisa as you can no longer purchase one on arrival at Dalaman. As s result some airlines are requesting sight of a copy before boarding.
-
Also, take your e-visas when you're out and about.
We were in Fethiye on Monday and someone was telling us that their dolmus was stopped on the way from Hisaronu by the Jandarma who checked passports and e-visas. People were fined if they didn't have one.
-
You’d think a valid passport stamp would be sufficient. After all, it’s an E visa and linked to your passport whether you have printed it or not. And as for UK airlines the purchase receipt email should satisfy them. Too many jobsworths!!

-
I would advise everyone to now carry their passports, e-visas & residency permits with them when travelling out & about of their main areas. Traffic Police & Jandarma check points are getting more frequent ,there is often one now enroute to Patara beach & near Kas.
-
So are you saying when we are out and about in Kalkan we need to carry our passports? Even when we go to a beach bar ?
-
We carry a photocopy of our passports with us when we're out and about.
Never had a problem, even when stopped at check points by the Jandarma.
-
We also have scans on our mobiles (together with Medical prescriptions, Optical, etc) - just in case!
-
Lynne T, no I am saying when you travel out of Kalkan or where ever one mainly stays.
Some people are being 'strongly' advised or fined for not showing their original documents when stopped at these checkpoints, have acutally witnessed this happen. There have over the winter time been far more checks, maybe they will ease in summer.
-
We're travelling with easyjet tomorrow and have had a text today saying to get a visa (which of course we already have) before you travel as you can't get one at Dalaman and there's no wifi at arrivals to get one.
-
Having just got back to Kalkan from a break in the UK, there was a family infront of us at passport control with no visa's, they were directed back to a visa booth where they purchased their visas.
-
Just done our visas from link on here.....$20 =£15.90 + 43p non sterling transaction fee PP (done 3 photo copies of each visa & Passports ..my passports are staying in the safe !!)
-
See you there BL :-*
-
So last night I decided to purchase our visas. Yes I know not difficult little did I know. On to Enjoy Kalkan click the link Yes were on our way NOT! All the way through payment made and then problem with web site message try later. I did.
Guess what same problem 4 times it must be me. Phone Daisy yes that's the web site he uses so back again no luck.
Give up and go to the pub come back try again still the same message. Brian is hopeless with all things computer so the holiday relies on me. Oh the pressure. 3 red wines later is perhaps not the best time to retry but ever persistent off we go.
I hate this web site still the same off to bed then.
I didn't sleep very well couldn't think what. I'd done wrong if anything. I'd done enough visas over the years it's got to be my age . I awoke early and had another go. EUREKA it's there in front of me paid for my very own visa quick print it off.
Rush to the printer print two copies and smugly return to bed with then in my hands. Now for Brian's . Wonderful same result only got to print it off .
Well the message on the printer this inker us not compatible with this printer.WHAT I've just printed two copies what are you on about?
Calm down dear we'll go and get some more inkers says the voice of reason Brian.
So my visa is printed his isn't. Lord only knows when it will be but I'm coming to Kalkan for the Golden Wedding even if I'm on my own!
-
Joycie, you did notice that there's a link to the e-visa site on EK's page as well, didn't you? ;D
-
Yes that was the one that wouldn’t work yesterday perfect today
